I HAVE A 99 DURANGO AND WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD IT JUST QUIT. AND NOW IT WON'T START .

If engine is turning over my first and cheapest Thought would be to change the fuel filter(assuming your not out of gas). If your somewhat mechanically inclined (or know someone who is) you can spray some starting fluid or splash a little gas into the carburetor and if the engine fires a little bit that will be it.
Fuel filter location 1999 dodge durango

It could be other things (fuel pump) but without additional info I say start there.

My 1997 turns over but wont start. it has gas and the battery is 2 years old and sounds strong. I'm not really mechanically inclined, but I do have common sense. Any help would be great...Thank You...

You have to make sure that the fuel is being pumped into the combustion chamber. Do this by disconnecting the fuel line from the fuel rail, then have someone turn the key into the on position. Some vehicles' fuel pumps will start pumping at this point. Be ready for a potential spray of gasoline from the fuel line. If nothing then have your helper try and start the engine. If still nothing then your fuel filter is clogged or your fuel pump needs to be replaced.

Strong gas smell in vehicle

Take it seriously! Gasoline as a liquid is not flammable but the vapors are! Have it serviced and diagnosed by a professional unless you are mechanically inclined. If you were mechanically inclined I would assume that your question would have been more specific. Gas vapors can come from multiple sources. The seals/gaskets on the inlet. The vapor emission filter. Broken gas line. Bad air fuel mixture. Leaking fuel rail. Damage in-line fuel filter. Etc.

I am getting strong raw gas fumes blowing in through my vents into the cab of my 2005 Pontiac Aztec. What could be causing this and is it safe to continue driving?

If they are truly raw gas fumes you have a gas leak. DO NOT DRIVE THE CAR. It can start on fire if the gas leak is under the hood, or if it's somewhere else and someone throws a **** out the window it could start on fire too. I would have it towed to a mechanic immediately. If you are mechanically inclined and know where your fuel filter is under the hood you could check those fuel lines first to see if they are cracked or leaking. If you have jackstands you could put the car up on 4 of those and check underneath the car and inspect the lines from the tank to the filter to the engine. If you are not mechanically inclined I would air on the side of caution and take it to a mechanic ASAP. If it is exhaust you are smelling and not raw gas, it is still not safe to drive. Exhaust fumes do not take long to put you to sleep and when you go to sleep you do not usually wake up. I would get it in to get looked at before driving it again. Good Luck!

Gas pedal sticking

will try to help, thats a serious problem. if you're mechanically inclined maybe you can do this,if not, please seek a mechanic if problem still exists. 1st with car off and in park w/motor OFF. pull and push gas pedal up and down with your hand. feel resistance from pedal?nothing blocking the pedal at floor? next open hood. in park, with engine off, follow gas linkage with your hand, when you reach the accelerator, move it by turning it with your hand, spray it with wd40,if this does'nt improve the sticking, you may have a burr in the wire inside the fuel cable, simply put,it will need to be replaced and not safe to operate on the road, it's not really complicated repair but you can be helped through it with directions. if not mechanically inclined, don't recomennd you try it though. hope this helps you and thank you for choosing fixya.com

POOR GAS MILEAGE 1997 Neon (DOHC)

A really dirty air filter will knock down your gas mileage greatly....yes. Also keep in mind that you don't get as good of mileage around town, as you do on the freeway.....35 mpg isn't too shabby....oh and please give me a rating....thank you
