The starter bolt actually goes through the motor mount so in order to remove the starter you must support the engine with and engine support or hoist. (some put a jack underneath the oil pan which is not an approved method but it works if that's all you have) Other than that you seem to have the rest under control.

Why is all the interior lights starts blinking when key is turn on wont start

Electrical issue.I would imagine you cleaned the cable connectors that you attach to the battery. With the lights blinking, that sounds like a starter issue, but since its new,try replacing the battery cables themselves, double check your wires to the starter, make sure they are tight.Good Luck ! Thank You !

Wont start on the first try? When we turn the key the vehicle will not start up. usually takes a few turns to get it to start. All the lights come on and it makes a tick sound. I thought maybe the...

When you turn the key and it makes the tick, does it ever turn over at all? If not and it only ticks then it is most likely your starter. You can also test your battery at a local autozone, oreilley, napa, etc. and they can tell you if the battery is the problem. Also if you remove the starter they can typically test them also if you desire.

Alternater

If this car has the 2.5 24 dohc motor..Good Luck...Im not trying to be mean but there is a major task to remove this altenator from the car. The engineers at Ford thought of everything..except where do they put the altenator. Oh well we'll put it underneath the car, we wont have to fix it..ha ha.. Before you try to remove the Alt. Check the MAXI FUSE which is inline on the altenator wire to the battery. This fuse is located under the coil pak. Remove the 4 screws and lift the coil pack off. Look down the firewall about 8 " below the coils and there is a black box with red wires coming from opposite ends. One is from altenator, other is from battery. Inside the box is the fuse. Check continuity of the wires on each end the box. If there is continuity the fuse is ok and altenator is shot, if no continuity , the fuse is no good and you may not have to remove the altenator. ( but fuse blew for reason). If you need more info post again.

Car wont turn over all lights and radio work. 2002 jetta

Hello there:
This could be caused by a weak battery or a loose battery terminals
or you might have a wire goin to or coming from the starter or even a bad starter or altenator you have a fuse in the fuse box that is bad that controles the ignition this may be causing your problem see if you can
first remove the battery terminals and clean them really good and reinstall them and try this ifstill nothing .
jump start the car and see if you have any low voltage showing up on the volt meter or if nothing i would start looking at the altenator ok?
Hope that this is very helpful for you

My 1991 vw jetta wont start... it makes a ticking noise when i turn the key over .. anyone got any ideas ... the motor was rebuilt about 2 years ago. 14k on the clock.

Sounds like the battery is almost dead, try boosting it with another car or a good battery you may also jump start it if its a standard. If the battery is not dead and your 100% sure of that then I'd say the starter is burned out in which case you have to change the starter.
