# 9 is ABS, EDL, TCS, and ESP power, it's a 5Amp fuse
#17 is a dead terminal nothing uses this spot.

Speedometer not working abs and check engine light stays on also my brake lights dont work im getting 12 volts to every thing but brake lights all other lights front and rear work im only getting .11...

the brake lights not working is most likely a fuse , as for the ck engine light you have to get a scanner and find what codes you have same goes for the abs that also could be a fuse and you need a scanner to ck the abs code which is not the same as the ck engine , which is a emission problem but , they are still safe to use the anti locks just will not work but that is ok , as for the speedometer that could be something else maybe a fuse but I do not think so , is it digital or mechanical or electrical , be more specific on this one , could be a number of things

How do you rewhy is my brakes locking down while driving?how do i rest the abs system?

You have water in the brake system, it boils and applies the brakes.
Different size tires will set a trouble code, but not apply brakes.

Why would the abs light be on?

Each wheel has a magnetic sensor and a slotted ring that generates the ABS pulse. The sensor can get dirty (rust, mud and brake dust) and have to be cleaned. The replaceable slotted ring often rusts in older cars. The cable from the wheel sensors to the body, while very tough, can get damaged or disconnected. Its usually the front ones.

You may need new rotors.
Subarus requires the same make and size of tires front and rear. Mixing sizes can cause a mismatch in the ABS signals from each end, and this will often cause the ABS light to come on.
The ABS computer may have failed.

If ABS is working more or less correctly, hitting the brakes on loose dirt or snow/ice should result in the pedal kick back and the buzzing of the ABS valve system.

ABS BRAKE VIBRATES AT LOW SPEED ON DRY PAVEMENT

gm had a problem with the abs systems on their 1999 trucks and cars the sensor seat would corrode and move slightly enough to set off the low speed sensor of the abs usually goes off at 5mph and less and doesnt set off the abs trouble code need to remove the front wheels and brake assembly to access the hub and abs sensor also check hub to make sure its ok- in the mean time pull the fuse on the abs ur brakes will go to a normal brake without the abs meaning if u step on brake hard[panic brake] u can lock up tires

I ve got a kalos 1.4sx 2008 and i ve got problems with the brakes. The brakes ''crunch'' when i m bringing the car to a halt, even on dry roads. The abs warning light has been on a couple of times but...

The Chevrolet/GM autos rely on a Kelsey ABS actuator system that is electronically controlled. I know its hard to describe sounds, but is it possible the crunch is a hum? If the ABS light comes on and goes off after restart it means one of two things. That the ABS controller is going bad or the speed sensors on the wheels have come loose or gone bad. Under your hood there is a fuse compartment that contains the fuse that controls the ABS system on your vehicle. Its a 60 Amp fuse and large.. Look in your owners manual for its location. . Check it with the vehicle OFF to make sure its not blown or cracked. Leave the fuse disconnected and start the car. The ABS light should STAY on as well as the parking brake light. Test your brakes by pressing down on them while the car is in park and not moving.. do you hear the sound. If you DONT hear the sound then the ABS control module is causing the brake pump to work continuously and thus your "noise". YOu can confirm by placing the fuse back in place and then listening to the car about where the drivers door is... do you hear a hum? If so you can leave the fuse disconnected to deactivate the ABS module. The brakes will still function you just WONT have ABS capability. Confirm this with a very slow roll from park or neutral and press brakes to stop. If you dont hear the noise or a hum, reconnect the fuse and take the car for a drive. Turn to the left and right while applying the brake at an intersection.. vehicle in motion slightly. Do you notice that the ABS light or noise occurs turning one way or the other or both? If it comes on during the turn then the ABS sensor in that wheel or both wheels need to be inspected and possibly replaced. Finally, you need to inspect the brake pads for wear..typically however brake pads have WEAR INDICATORS built in and will start to SQUEAL when you apply the brakes telling you time to replace pads. If its a squeal and not a crunch then have pads replaced. Finally, be sure and make sure you dont have any rocks or road debris within the brake area or between teh pads and the rotors. That would be your final area to review for a CRUNCH noise.

What does the abs fuse # 10 does in the vehicle

Take out the fuse. It is expensive to fix those things, most abs systems give out and most people ride out the life of the car with no abs, your brakes will still work , just won't have abs. Usually it is the rear that goes, if you notice something wrong with the brakes when the fuse is out, besides the dash light, then I would get them checked out. It is probably the dist valve thing in front of the power brake booster that goes bananas. I had the abs go out on three of my trucks all the same time, all different trucks, we got out the black tape on the dash to cover the lights, never had a problem, 2 of those trucks are dead and buried now but one is still on the road and the brakes still work great and the light is still on. Hope this helps.
