Hi I have a Daewoo Leganze 2000 model that has suddenly started showing thetelp gage right up at the red. The engine is not hot though. Also there is a misfire when the car is cold and tonight it was cutting out. Any ideas??

Make sure your cooling fans come on. If overheating at idle it is likely for the fans to have failed. While driving the air rushing through the grill cools the coolant in the radiator which is probably why it's fine while driving. You shouldn't drive the car if overheating as this will cause damage to the engine. Check fan relays, fuses and fans. If you turn the A/C on the fans should come on.

You must be full to recovery bottle setting of cold when checked prior to start up . Coolant for your make / model is Reddish - Pink colour and should have a reading of -25 thats negative 25 degrees the Lower the Better even - 50 .. Why ?? - 50 is 50 %% antifreeze / Coolant Concentrate MIX Gives Hot weather cooling Ability or very cold weather starting / winter HEAT .
Hi there:the Audi manual never talks about a 2 stage aux fan just that the aux fan runs with ac on and it can run with out ac on if there is an overheat issue on the coolant side where as the a4 info clearly states a 2 stage aux fan system that would lead me to think the early 4.2 did not use a 2 stage system. Your car is not overheating and boiling over out of the coolant tank it is showing a little hotter than what would be perfect but it is still in what Audi calls acceptable range. The whole coolant system is new I would start looking at your sensor and gage systems there is a coolant sensor in the rad but that is most likely new if they replaced the rad. The gage uses a temp sensor on the engine for the gage I would replace that sensor and test the gage with a resistance input tool we have at the dealer. Could be a gouge or the wiring to it. There is a coolant fan module that could be defective if your sure there was a two speeds to the aux fan.

sound like thermostat sticking close.replace thermostat and radiator pressure cap.if already done.you could have faulty water pump.if engine overheating at long slow traffic line or setting at a stand still.the engine cooling fans should be running, check and see if cooling fans running if not,check cooling fans fuses and relays.if all is good,hot wire make sure coolings fans okay.if all is good,code scan vechicle for faulty engine coolant temperature sensor and ecm problems.you need a code scanner where you can check live data check see if coolant temperature sensor reading correctly if engine coolant temperature is 190 degrees the coolant sensor. the scanner suppose to show 190 degrees in temperature if not it reads 80 or 90 degrees the engine coolant temperature sensor is faulty need replacing.if all is good check engine oil if look like milk shake blow head gasket will cause over heating.to be on the safe side i would replace thermostat and radiator pressure cap first.to make sure engine coolant circulating through radiator and engine block.

hi please check the above mentioned wires are in place. if all in place then check weather power is coming to these lines. if power is also coming the problem lies with the system itself. please service it and it wil be ok.
Hi There I have had the same problem, if the climate control shows different temps at either side it most possible that the heater valve needs replacing, the valves inside get rusty and sieze up, it is situated at the front o/s at the side of the radiator. If temps are the same could be the control module
blue smoke is not a good sign the car might not be showing hot but it still might be over heating. blue smoke is normalie caused by burnt rings due the car being over heated you may need to go to mechanic before the engine fails
