Its R134A and you can buy it at any auto parts store for less than 30 bucks but it won't do you any good if it has a leak in the system. you should get it checked for leaks.

It is not R12, that went out years ago. These newer cars take the R134 refrigerant. trust me I know,

2004 Toyota sienna ac compressor keeps clicking off and on constantly I replaced a new compressor and new relay , but still doing the same thing

The compressor will cycle on and off. As long as the unit is cooling properly it's ok. If it is not cooling enough and cycling it might be low on freon.

Why does the a/c work fine at an idle and stopped but will stop cooling after 2 miles of driving?

Have the system serviced as it sounds like it is low on freon. You have enough to make the system work at idle but when run at higher rpm the low side pressure may drop and the pressure switch will shut off the compressor.

Check freon level. Low pressure switch keeps you from blowing compressor

Make sure the Freon pressure is between 30 to 40 Psi, maybe vacuum the system and fill gas again.

Toyota Corolla 1995. Quality of air conditioner reduced when stopped (traffic light) or moving at slow speed (condenced city traffic) No problem on the highway. Checked freon gas and fan. Understand that...

Normal, the ac heat exchanger condenser need air moving across the fins to remove the heat. While moving in town the condenser isn't remove the meat that is building up the it's aluminum fins. Even though the vehicle uses an electric fan. The fan is used to cool the engine temperature. If you Toyota is equip-ed with automatic transmission. The electric fan will need to pull enough air to cool the engine temperature, automatic transmission fluid, air conditioner condenser, and maybe power steering condenser to cool the power steering fluid. Later model of vehicles/trucks are using different refrigerants instead R134A in which you Toyota uses.

The simples way to explain is the ac remove heat from inside your Toyota and this heat is removed by the refrigerants inside your ac in the car. To cool the refrigerant this coolant is removed to the heat exchanger condenser located in front of the engine radiator. So, while moving at 60mph there is enough air flow through the radiator, ac head condenser, and other aluminum heat exchangers. GB...stewbison

My 2001 sienna air conditioner is blowing some cold air but could be colder. Can I just replace freon?

A lot of your local parts stores sale a hand held device that you pull the trigger on with it hooked to you ac line and it will tell you if it is low or ok or over charged. It comes with a can of R134 and I think it was around $40 but it is well worth it so you don't over fill andlock up your AC pump

2004 Toyota Sienna and the AC is blowing warm air

Well, I would check to see if the compressor under the hood is engaging and the fan turns on to the radiator when switching the a/c on.

The most common problem for a car that is 6 years old is for r134a refrigerant to leak out through o-rings.

I would get an r134a recharge kit from your local auto parts store which consists of a tube and a can of freon with oil, leak detector, and sealant to help prevent leakage.

Hope you can get 'cool' air conditioning again.

2004 toyota sienna, a/c not cooling very well. compressor kicking on and off.

If the compressor turns on and off could be lack of freon, also could be that the condenser fans not working check the freon with a pressure gauge that you connect to the terminal was lower than thicker pipe system air conditioning if you are under 90 lbs the compressor starts and you should check if you have a leak in the system. Thanks

either your R134a is leaked out ore you need add and also add a dye see if leaks.
Add to the low side the car while running with gage with ac cranked on high follow metter dont over fill it loc the ac up. Easy 20 minute job wallmart sells the gage and R134s and so do auto zones

A/C not working

If the light is on it is most likly to be low on freon and/or it has bad pressure switch. you need to keep under the hood area. that is where you will find your problem.
