Question about 1998 Pontiac Firebird
I have a 1998 Pontiac Firebird, and the drivers side power window stopped rolling up or down. I have taken the door panel off numerous times, disconnected the cables and all, and it would work. Now it does not even move when I push the button. And on top of it, now the passenger side does nothing also. Can somebody tell me if this could be something other than the motors since it just seems coincidental that they both have the same exact issue.
Use a meter and check for voltage at the motor. If you do not have voltage there confirm there is voltage getting to the switches.
Power for both windows goes through the driver side switch.
If you do have power then it is the motor. They fail all the time. You can find instructions to replace the motor at www.autotrix.net/install

Double check all your fuses and and wires in connection with your power windows. Unfortunately though pontiacs are notorious for the power window motor regulators to go out, my buddy had 99 firebird and both windows had the same problem, and I previously owned a 98 sunfire and both window motors went out within the same week.
