Question about 1998 Pontiac Firebird

1 Answer

I have a 1998 Pontiac Firebird, and the drivers side window stopped rolling up and down, I could take the panel off, mess around with the cables, and it would work for a few days. Now when you push the button, nothing happens. And now, the passengers side doesn't roll down either. Could this be a coincidence that they both stopped working, and maybe the cause is something other than the motors being bad?

Where is the bcm located on a 2000 pontiac firebird

It is behind the kick panel on the driver's side. Rather, it is just above that, but you'll need to remove the kick panel and the knee pad (part under steering wheel) to get to it.

My left side light wont go up or down on my 1998 pontiac firebird

Hi. I'm guessing your meaning your window. If so my first guess is that its electric and I would say your window motor has gone bad. But if you recently spilled something on the switch or haven't cleaned the switch area over time, the swich can become shorted out or nonconductive when depressed. I would have a shops advice on the r/r of both.

Driver's window won't roll up all the way

If you have power windows it should be a broken cable, If its manual then it should be the crank asm. or the white plastic trac, it may torn at the end.

I have a 2001 rodeo. the power windows all work from each window if you hit that particular switch at the window, they work. the drivers side window also rolls down. but the 3 other switches at the drivers...

First check your fuse panel. Other than that...Perhaps moisture has gotten in the door panel and messed with the connection. I would take the panel off and investigate..make sure everything is plugged in.

1998 PONTIAC POWER WINDOW PROBLEMS

Double check all your fuses and and wires in connection with your power windows. Unfortunately though pontiacs are notorious for the power window motor regulators to go out, my buddy had 99 firebird and both windows had the same problem, and I previously owned a 98 sunfire and both window motors went out within the same week.

Problem with drivers side window

friction is the most likely problem . So take the door panel off and put white lube on all the tracks . If it is not a motor problem that should solve it.
