Just Bought a 1997 3500 from local dealer Diesel Gauge say E and low light is on but tank is full.

Is this common or maybe wires just broke or not connected?

Sounds like the sending unit has a flat spot very commmon on dodges .the sending unit can get replaced with out replacing the whole pump. the pump has to be removed from the tank.do yourself a favor and do the wires one at a time so they are in the right spots. the fuel module which is a pump and asending unit is very expensive over three hundred i believe but the sending unit is less than a hundred maybe even less.this should repair your problem

A mechanic would check for power and ground at the connector for the gas tank. Grounding the wire from the gauge should make it move.

Turns over but won't start--registers no gas but has some

gas gauge is broken wire on or near tank.. or its a big tank an could take more to regastir..
dont start, could be fuel pump, or feul pump relay,
brakes, one of the pads prob fell off an is bouncing around in there, happens all the time..

1994 dodge ram 1/2 ton. It runs fine until I have less than a half a tank of gas. Then it tries to cut out/backfire and won't even go over 30 mph.

Is it possible the gauge is broken? Or it is possible the filter on the pump is plugged and it only runs right when gas can spill over the top, into the pump. Have you hooked up a fuel pressure gauge?

My 2001 dodge ram 1500 5.2 v-8 check gauges light comes on and the battery gauge is not charging half way and as soon as I drive it , the gauge goes to none charging but I can drive it and it doesn't give...

on the alternator did you put the little washers where the regulator bolts on back of the alt they must be tight and also the ground cable from the battery to the alt bracket must be tight and grounded sounds like a loose connection
the washers go between the alternator and wires coming out of the harness and the alt also it probalbly goes dead occasionally when you crank it up

2000 1500 ram truck turns over, but wont start.

first check the fuses. Then check for power at the fuel tank wiring going to the sending unit for power. also check the grounds coming from the sending unit neither the fuel gauge or the fuel pump will work properly with no ground. mike

96 Dodge Ram Gas Gauge always on empty

The fuel pump and the sensor is altogether as one assembly. So if you buy the pump you would also be buying the sensor. Just for your information the pump is located in the gas tank under the bed, so you have two ways to change it. One is take the bed off (which is a lot easier if you have a full gas tank). But if its empty than use a jack to lower the tank down from underneath the truck. I hope this helps.
