Try having a second person push down on the hood while pulling the lever. Then repost results.

When you pull the hood release lever, you may not hear anything, and the hood won't move, and when you walk to the front, it is still seated, if you can get your fingertips to grap the bottom of the hood (just above the silver trim) you can pull it up..mine does that, it doesn't seem to work, but you have to pull up on it and it kicks up a couple inches and you can reach the lever

Miguel, 1993 Buick century hood cable broke. With a flashlight, you will have to lay under car and reach up where cable runs into latch and pull the latch mechanism/lever to unlatch hood. If not comfortable doing this call a locksmith and they will have it open in seconds. Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

Safety catch on hood wont release and hood wont re latch!

I would check to see if the hood release moves when the inside lever is pulled then pushed, if not the cable and latch mechanism may need lubrication or be broken.

My hood release lever broke..how can I open my hood??

You should be able to still grab the cable with some pliers and pull on it. If you can't see the cable, you can pull off the kick panel to access it.

Good Luck!

I can "release" the hood on my 1999 Audi A4 from

Yes, you will be able to open the hood if you pull off your splash guard and use a long long flat head screwdriver or something like that. You'll see the hood latch in front of the radiator with the cable attached to it at the top near the hood, put it on the drivers side edge of the bottom of the latch and pry to the passenger side, the lever moves from the drivers side to the passengers side, the cable basically pulls the top of it to achieve this. so your doing the same thing on the bottom with the screwdriver.

Release the latch from underneath by the lever that you have to pry towards the passenger side. Then open the hood, and repair or replace the safety release mechanism. This is very simple to remove out from the hood.

Hood release cable isn't connected to interior hood release lever

Your going to have to use vice grips or pliers. Just pull hard till you hear the hood pop open or have a friend push down on the hood so you can pull in the hood cable easier to unlock the hood latch. Good luck and keep me posted.

Hood release 2004 VW Jetta

There's a hood release lever inside your Jetta by your left knee. Pull this lever to partially release the hood. Then reach your hand under the front center portion of your hood to locate the external hood release lever. pull on this lever to fully release the hood. Two (2) separate hood release levers in two different locations.

Hood release cable broken, how do i open the hood ?

I have a similar problem with my 1992 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme. The way I open the hood is to reach my hand between the radiator and the front of the car, and for me there is a bar running right up the middle if I follew that too the top, and on the drivers side of that bar should be the hood release, and I feel around till I feel the hood release cable, and then I push on the lever that the cable is attached too, most of the time this works. Hope this helps.
