Question about 2002 Chrysler PT Cruiser
We have a 2002 Pt Cruiser and the fog lights kept staying on unless we turned the blinker switch. Now the car won't even start. We have tried to jump start, but still won't even turn over.
1st most newer car cars have a timer delay that helps light the area you are in for a couple of seconds. You may have had the knob turned all the way up on the turn signal switch. The same thing will happened if this switch is turned all the way up, the interrior light will stay on. Turn the lights on with the switch and see if the fog lights come on, do this without the car running.Trun the lights off,see if the fog lights stay on then go out after a while.if so you have a delay on the fog lights or relay. You may need to replace the relay only. Part $ 15 trace fog light wiring to relay usually under hood away from water sources.......runjoe

Problem is almost certainly the Lucas multifunction switch (indicator stalk switch). For some reason Chrysler didn't fit a relay on the early PT cruisers and after the front fogs are used a few times the current running through the switch literally melts the contacts inside!!!
I have read hundreds of people accounts of this online and personaly experienced it myself with my pt 2.0 touring edition
Bad news New multifunction switches are expensive. in excess of 100 pounds
Good news if you are remotely tech savvy there is a detailed repair guide here.
Best of luck
