Question about 2000 Dodge Caravan

Heater problems I have no heat in my 2005 caravan. I was reading the recalibration idea posted here. Where do I find the codes it mentions at the last of the information?

My problem with the my heater must be a leak. When I add antifreeze it works fine. Then I drive a day or so, or on a long distance drive, I can smell the antifreeze. The next day I won't have heat. Is this hose or something else to look for?

Please clarify - you have no heat, or the system will not blow the hot air where you want it? If you don't have any heat but the blower fan works, you should check the heater core for leaks. You may have a bad temp selection switch so look at the linkage between it and the heater control under the dash.

If the fan won't blow, it could be the fuse, a bad blower motor or the resistor.

Your heater issue could be several thing, if there is absolutly no het then it could be a thermostat. It may also be a fresh air mode door. there are no linkages to check, it's all electrically controled.Recalibration of the control head has to be done by the dealer with their scan tool.If that's what the problem is. Give a little more info and I'll point you in the right direction.

It takes a long time for our heater to come on in our 2005 caravan what is wrong? The temp gauge reads warm and everything.

i would check your coolant level..sometimes if you get low your heater core (what heats the cab) will not flow warm coolant through it thus not heating...Another problem could be a plugged heater core..which isnt allowing coolant to flow through..in this case your can have the system flushed for around 80-100 bucks good luck

Dodge caravan 2002 heating problem

The O2 sensor problem has nothing to do with the heat problem. Check your antifreeze level to make sure it is up where it should be. then check the thermostat which is most likely the problem. If either one of them are not the problem, it might be your water pump is getting weak.

if you are sure that your heater core is not restricted. then try to recalibrate the climate control panel. if your a/c system is not working then DO NOT ATTEMPT THE RECALIBRATION it will make your lights on climate control panel flash codes forever.
to reclaibrate the climate control panel just have the engine running. turn the mode to vent, the temp to cold, the blower on high, then press and hold the rear wiper wash and wiper buttons at the same time until the panel lights up then wait about 2 minutes for it to run completly when completed. turn off ignition and then restart the engine try to se if you have heat again. if it doesntwork post the codes it gives you after the calibration test.
