Question about 1998 Plymouth Breeze

1 Answer

My fuel pump is not activating?

My son got the car stuck on a snow bank. We brought it into the garage and warmed it up, buy the fuel pump is not activating and the car won't start. I swapped the relays around, and still no response. Could it be the computer? I already wasted $240 on a new fuel sender unit and that wasn't the problem.

There is not a fuel pump reset switch on this car. I'm starting to think it's the computer because there's no spark either.

I'm replacing the ignition switch first. I also bought a manual so I'll see about the fuel injection reset switch. I'm also replacing the fuel relay switch, and spark plugs just for the heck of it. Also got a new ground cable for the battery. Just need to get an idea why there's no spark. Thank you!

have throttle body checked also the MDK throttle motor,
make sure that the dealer has followed service bulletin 12 07 99 for procedure to replace the MDK throttle motor
also have them check for codes, here are some codes,
it could be an expensive job, have them check everything,it is most likely the throttle motor,,throttle body is 600 if they switch it,dont let them do it without checking throttle motor,
codes,

2001 lincoln ls fuel pump working but not starting

Your description points to a bad crankshaft sensor. You should also have a check engine light on. This probably happened when cold snow hit a very warm sensor, and possibly cracked it. GOOD LUCK FRIEND.

1 Answer

Car wont start after its been garaged for a year

fuel pump probably locked up, or the fuel lines have deteriorated , or you have a blown fuse or relay.

1999 Saturn starts and runs great then shuts off for no reason?

SOUND LIKE FUEL FILTER STOPPED UP OR FUEL PUMP NOT WORKING.SOON AS CAR STALL OUT CHECK FUEL PRESSURE SHOULD BE 31 - 36 PSI. IF FUEL PUMP NOT WORKING CHECK FUEL PUMP FUSE AND RELAY. CODE SCAN LOOK FOR FAULTY PCM.BEFORE BUYING NEW FUEL PUMP.CODE SCAN ALSO FOR FAULTY EGR VALVE STUCK OPEN.LOOK FOR FAULTY IDLE AIR CONTROL VALVE.CAR LOSING IDLE CONTROL WILL SHUT OFF.

Got stuck in snow storm left over night and engine compartment filled with snow tryed starting didnt start towed to heated garage for night and still wont start it smells like fuel in air box might be...

It probably is flooded from trying to start it.Originally the the air tube probably was packed with snow so the engine wasn't drawing air in. If you turn the key on and push the gas pedal to the floor this should activate what is called clear flood mode.If it will not still start would suggest removing all the sparkplugs and cleaning or replacing them also make sure that the air induction tube is clear and dry.

MY G35 COUPE WILL NOT START UP...BUT IT DOES TURN OVER THE HEADLIGHTS DOES WORK AS WELL....IT WAS A BAD SNOW STORM LAST NITE...AND THE CAR WAS COVERED WITH SNOW....WHAT COULD BE THE PROBLEM....??THNX

Could you have a frozen gas line due to water in the line? Verify that fuel pressure is where it should be with a pressure gauge. Move the car to a warm garage and let it warm up if there is ice in the line. Always have more than 1/2 of a tank of gasoline in the tank when winter comes.

Car would,nt start after being stuck in snow loads of power there AA thought it might be fuel pump but but found not to be that. Electrics seem to be fine but still will not start any ideas.

Hi,
Unfortunately, snow my have gotten jammed into sensitive electrical connections or actually disconnected a connection.
The BMW will need to be warmed up and all the snow melted so a diagnosis can be preformed.
Way to many possibilities to guess at.
The BMW's computer will help in the trouble shooting process after it has been dried out.
