If you havent tuned up the engine, its time. Those plugs have been in there for 10 years now. I change mine every year. Wires also. If you have a distributor which you probably don't be nice and replace your rotor also. And don't get the cheapest parts you can buy. Get some quality parts that are desighed to last a couple of years. Bausch is a great inexpensive brand for the everyday guy or gal. Get the Bausch dual spark plugs that way I don't have to explain about gapping. Now if you get the same reading. But if Im not mistaken cylinder misfire could also mean your timing is off. So Just go and do the tune up then go from there.

I have rough idle and 0304 code on a 1999 Volvo v70 xc what's wrong?

code is for misfire on cylinder 4 , may just need the plug cleaning or may need a new coil pack , plug lead , or more advanced diagnostics to get to the exact cause

What's it mean if my check ingine light blinks in my 1995 Mazda millinia??

If the car has individual coil packs (one for each cylinder) it indicates that one of the coils is bad causing the car to misfire.

What causes engine misfires to stay after new plugs and coil packs?

Try swapping the coil packs around - like swap #1 with #2, and swap #6 with #5, see if the misfires MOVE with the coil packs swapped to the new cylinders or if they stay with the cylinders. If they move with the coil packs, the new coil packs are bad. If they stay with the cylinders, there's a problem with those cylinders. You DID replace that camshaft sensor, right?

Have you checked your #1 and #6 injectors?

I have a mazda mpv 2000 minivan.problem code p0301 misfire detected cylinder#1

I'd check #1 spark plug.
Usually a misfire code "fix" is a spark plug, spark plug wire, or a coil pack / distributor.
Keeping it simple...I'd go with the spark plug first and then look at the condition of the wires.

Hope this helps...

2004 Jetta 1.8T started idling rough at low rpm, OBD says random misfire....

spark plugs? either current ones are bad, or maybe you replaced recently with incorrect ones (most autoparts stores don't have the right plugs for 1.8T...need to go to dealer or ecstuning.com)
-or-
coil packs?
the OBD scan should tell you what cylinder is misfiring. try swapping the coil packs around and see if the misfire moves. if it does, then replace the bad coil pack (might just want to do all 4). if not, trying swapping the plugs around...same idea.

1999 Town Car began running very rough - suddenly.

When cleaning your engine, water/degreaser went down the spark plug ports. Try using a air compressor blow gun to remove the moisture from around the spark plugs and boots. The water was causing the engine to misfire on 3 cylinders at first and as the ports started to evaporate the moisture, the less misfiring was occuring. Dry thouroughly and hopefully coils do not have damage to them. Also check to make sure the boot is making good contact with the spark plug.
