Check the thermostat first, if it is good undo the radiator cap start the car and see if water plowed out if so, then change cylinder head gasket.

I just replaced the starter on my daughters 1996 Honda Accord it started overheating and shutting off she put antifreeze in the radiator but it continued to smoke and shut off again now it won't s

If the smoke is white ,it's water (head or gasket)
Timing belt will shut it off completely.
Can't see any way the starter could have anything to do with it.
However if it has a head gasket problem, hydrostatic lock can
make a good starter look bad(,water will not compress like air)
so if there is water in a cylinder the engine won't turn over.
If a head gasket is bad there will be white smoke out the
tailpipe and bubbles coming out of the radiator (cap off while
cold)

My 1996 honda accord will not start in the morning. the catalyitc converter glows red, then it starts after a while the catalyitc converter stops glowing red and the car drives great all day.

You Have an Engine Performance PROBLEM that is Causing the CAT Converter to GLOW and IT The CATALYITIC CONVERTER IS BAD and Should be replaced Because the Platnum Pellits have MELTED Due to EXTREEM OVERHEATING. So BOTH Problems Need to be Addressed.

1996 HONDA ACCORD RUNNING HOT WHEN STOPPED AT REDLIGHTS

Check that your Radiator fan is operating. The reason that it heats up when stopped is that there is no air flow thru the radiator. When the car is moving there is air flowing thru the radiator (the car is basically cutting thru the air).
