You probably have an air pocket in cooling system. If you can park the vehicle on an incline or jack the front up so radiator filler cap is higher than the heater core, remove cap and run engine until warmed up then run engine at about 1200 rpm you should then be able to see it bubbling then adjust level of coolant until its full.

Ford windstar 2002 problems

that could mean that your water pump impeller is broken. when you press the gas the remaining piece of the impeller is pushing the water and it actually makes it to the heater core. at idle it isn't spinning fast enough. ask a local autoparts store if the impeller is made of plastic.

I HAVE REPLACED NEW THERMASTAT AND NEW WATER PUMP, BUT STILL NO HEAT.WHAT ELSE CAN BE MY PROBLEM ? THIS IS A1995 FORD WINDSTAR VAN.

Maybe you didn't bleed all of the air out of your coolant systtem.
I had a very similar problem, last month, my heat would not go above 50 degrees F.

I had air in my heater core.

I put wheel blocks behind the back tires and engaged the emergancy brake.
I jacked the front of my van up so both tires were off the ground (about 3")
I removed the radiator cap, started the engine, and turned the heat on high.
I added antifreeze, until it was full.
I let the engine continue to run, as I watched the antifreeze level go back down, then I added more antifreeze.
After doing this 2 times, I squeezed and held the upper radiator hose. I did not release it.
I started pouring more antifreeze in and when it started to over-flow, I still kept pouring as slowly released the hose.
With the raditator level full, I replaced the cap and put some antifreeze in the coolant reservoir.
Lowered the front back to the ground and removed the tire blocks.
I stuck a guage in the inside vent and I now get a 125 degree reading.

Note...after I got the van jacked up, it only took me 15 minutes to get the air out of the system (mainly, because I squeezed and held the hose).

2001 Ford Windstar van seems to skip when you push

It may be due to plugs, fuel filter, fuel pump, or mass airflow sensor. Is your check engine light on?

Windstar 3.8l 2000 doesn't keep running at iddle. It stall

Does van stay running when you hold the gas pedal down? Check fuel pressure at fuel rail should be 30 psi when key is turned on. EGR valve and EVP sensor also control idle.

Brakes fail.

You have a major brake fluid leak. The master cylinder, brake calipers, hose, steel lines or rear wheels cylinders are leaking. Not safe to drive until you repair it.
