Question about 2001 Audi TT

The power door lock doesnt work!

When I push the power door lock it wont lock the doors, however it makes a noise like its locking. The only way I can lock the doors is by using the key in the drivers door. Any help would be appreciated.

One more question regarding this issue. The button on the inside of the car UNlocks the doors but will not lock. Do you think maybe its still the lock actuator?

It sounds like a bad lock actuator. this is the devise that trips the lock. It's found in the door panel.

Why wont windows and lock work? could it be the front ecu?

Check inside of door where wiring comes thru for broken wires ,ECU doesn't control windows or door locks. You didn't state what model vehicle you own. But opening and closing door on drivers side causes broken wires on numerous vehicles over the years, most makes and models. Split boot and check all wires inside for breakage.

Power door lock doesnt work

The power lock mechanism on these have this plastic gear setup and they crack. When it splits it just spins and makes that noise. You'll have replace the module, about $60 IIRC.

Outside door locks wont open with key and inside when i push in the power locks it makes an awuful noise pushing the inside door lock could it be a bad motor for the lock mechanism please help ...

I believe you are on the right track. It sounds like you have a faulty door lock actuator. ( they typically make a buzzing/grinding type of noise). You will have to remove the door panel to replace that component and a quick call to an auto parts supplier should be able to get you one. Good Luck.

Suzuki swift broken electronic door lock

No there is not many problems with this car at all. In fact it has very good ratings. This car may just have a bad electrical connection to the lock mechanism behind the door panel. You can push down drivers lock and then hit all door lock button and it should work no problem. You then can use remote to unlock all doors.

Power door lock problem

The problem is caused by the electric motor that operates the power lock in that door, this motor is inside the door and will need to be replaced to correct the noise issue..
