Van quit unexpectedly while driving it- it appears it is spark or electrical-changed ignigition coil- not it- is there a safety shutoff ???? any ideas?????????

No shut offs, these are none for fuel pumps, depending on the engine it may be a bad timing belt, the belt may have poped or jumped, start by checking the fuel preasure,if there preasure about 50-60 psi them the next step would be the belt, a compression test on the cylinder should tell you or removing the cover and checking the timing marks. i would say its one of the two a fuelpump or the timing belt, i checked and the 96 caravan does have a timing belt in the 4 and 6 cylinder engines. hope this helps.

I have a no start situation after replacing the water pump and timing belt. The marks on the camshaft pulley and the crank pulley are right on. When I put a timing light on the timing marks they are right...

I have a funny feeling that you have the belt on wrong. I know, you said the marks line up, but a compression check is easy and just confirms everything. Failing that, could you have the plug wires on wrong...I'm wondering if spark is occurring on the compression stroke or the exhaust stroke, and all this could come back to if the cambelt is on right as well.

Bottom line; if you have spark, fuel and COMPRESSION, it'll run.

only two things, either something got left unplugged or the wrong timing marks were used. what daigram did you use for the alignment of the marks? sometimes they do have different marks for other reasons. let me know.

My 1994 Ford Aspire wont start the fuel pump working getting spark get fuel pass fuel filter is threr something to check between the fuel filter and injectors?

check the timing belt, make sure it didnt break or jump, also you must make sure the feul has enough preasure, try sparying starting fluid into throtlebody see if it starts if it does then could be injector or low fuel preasure start there.

Ignition ok cambelt ok but car dead in the water just cut out whilst driving

If you are 100% sure that your ignition is ok, ( that you have spark)and your timing belt is good, then you are pretty much down to having a fuel problem. A cheap place to start is to replace your fuel filter. while you have the fuel filter removed, you can cycle your ignition, to see if the fuel pump runs..( have the end of the fuel line in a jug or container ) If you don't get fuel running, your pump is the most likely suspect.
If you don't have spark, then you need to troubleshoot that first!

Can any body help put cambelt back together

You need to rotate the cam until timing marks on the sprocket are in line with the head, then make sure crank shaft timing mark is lined up. Install the belt. Might have to loosen the timing belt tensioner. Put timing belt tensioner back on, rotate the crank shaft with a wrench first to make sure there's no interference. Next, check compression.

Starting problem with honda civic

Next things to check are fuel and spark, remove a spark plug and with the wire attached crank the motor, if you see spark in the plug then it's not a spark issue and probably a fuel problem. If there is no spark could be bad plugs or wires, or distrubitor cap. To check fuel remove injector cover and crank motor, if there is no fuel coming out then check fuel filter, fuel pump.

Good Luck
