Question about 1999 Audi A6
I bought the A6 1999 model recently and it comes standard with the Carphone. Problem is that I can't seem to get the phone to work. When in the craddle the phone comes on, shows a few icons and then goes to a blank screen with a single line in the top left corner of the screen. Now, I'm not sure if it requires some sort of code for it to work or not. Does anybody know? It is an Audi phone. The only codes I can see when removing the battery of the phone is the following:
Carhandy DTFX 53.1910.950.00
GSM HT911 CE 0170X
450067 05 643276 0
Then a code with an Audi sticker:
4A0 035 741 A806.
I have searched everywhere but can't find anything. The User Manual of the car refers me to the phone manual but I didn't get the phone manual with the car.
Any help or suggestions as welcome.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

SOURCE: AUDI A6 RADIO CODE
try another dealer. maybe try to get ahold of one of the techs at lunch time. this info should be free to the car owner, just be ready to supply the title to the car for some proof. maybe try buying the parts guys lunch or coffee and donuts....this usually works for this type of problem. unfortunaley this info really is dealer only..

You need to call an Audi/VW dealership and have the auz code off the back or side of the stereo, which means you have to pull out the stereo. Also you have to give the dealer your VIN # and then they can look it up for you. They may try to tell you they have to hook it up to a computer, thats BS! They will try to get you to bring it in. You have to know what you are talking about when you call, or they will give you some lame excuse to get you to bring it in. They are required to give it to you for free if you tell them the radio code isn't in the owners' manual given to you with the car.
And search through the audizine.com forums or any other audi forum, it will tell you what you need. You may even be able to get someone who posts on the forum and works at a dealership to look it up for you, if you ask nice.

Have you tried spraying starter fluid into the air intake? If it starts you may have a fuel pump or fuel filter issue. I'm assuming that you've verified that you have spark at this point. Good luck!
