Question about 2003 Volkswagen Jetta TDI
I use the keyless remote and the button inside the car to open the trunk and you can hear the motor working to release the trunk but it does not pop open? any ideas or whats going on? dont know if this is has something to do with the trunk problem but my 6 disc changer reads error and it happened on the same day
You can open it old school. Insert the key in the trunk lock in the VW emblem and turn it while pushing down on the trunk lid with the other hand a little bit. It should open. The plastic arm that the motor is pushing to unlock may be broken. I have the same problem. You can see it if you unscrew the fabric from the trunk lid and press the button on the remote. There are about a dozen fuzzy head screws (nicely masked btw.) that hold it. I am still looking for the proper name of the part so I can order it for my car.

When you hit the key and hear the motor push down on the trunk a few time. quick and hard like you are doing a cpr chest compression. I know it seems counter intuitive to push down to open the trunk but it just may get it un stuck. I know someone who had to do this every so often to get in their trunk
