1994 ford Bronco was starting and running fine. My daughter drove it 3 miles to school that morning then a few hours later she went to start it and it would'nt start. The door chime and all the dome lights, lights on dash lite up as normal and when you turned the key to (start) position you could hear the fuel pump then it just would click and not turn over and start. Jumped the battery that didn't work. Had it towed home and tried a few more times that night to get it to start but no luck. Next afternoon went to check it out again and for the heck of it thought id try starting it. Would'nt ya know it..It STARTED right up? After checking Battery and solenoid..etc I thought it was the starter but now im not sure.
When you replaced the fuel pump, did you notice if the pick-up line was in good condition or not? I have been told by a mechanic that has over 35 yearsof experience that this was a common problem, and especially now with Ethanol being mixed in with fuel.
i would start simple on this and check the fuel pump relay first. there not that expensive you can try to replace if you cant find specs to test it. if that does not work then i would say its your fuel pump that went out.
sounds like a broken timing belt, timing belts like to break during engine cranking and engine shut down. there are inspection holes in the timing cover,if you can't determine, remove top half of timing cover and check belt for slap,if there's slap,it's broke.
well i had this trouble with one came in with out haveing a scan tool witch you sold, cheers, regeehould invest in most canadian tire stores carry $30-$50 bucks well worth it you do not want to gue$$ this problem but souding like 02 sensor in manifold bank 1 meaning 1st one in the exsaust engine manif
sounds like you have a universal joint issue.(the joints that attach the drive shaft at the transmission and the rear axle.) You are right in not driving it as the drive shaft could fall out. However if this noise just started to occur you should be able to drive it a short distance to a mechanic and save the tow cost. I personally have driven (although carefully) for several weeks before i was able to change a universal joint. There are also some other possibilities of things it could be so I would suggest you take it to a trusted pro to have it diagnosed. hope this helps!
