Still there checked heatercore an water flow real good,the hoses going in to core are hot ,put temp gauge to hot an fan on hi blows cold air

Air conditioning only blows cold air.


Can you hear the blend door moving when you change the temp from cold to hot or vice versa? If not, then you need new blend door actuator. Also check the heater core for any blockage. (2 ways to tell....run the car til normal temp, and turn on the heat and feel the hoses by the firewall...if one is hotter than other, there is a blockage inside the heater core. Or disconnect both hoses at firewall, and put garden hose in one of those 2 open tubes and turn on the water...good flow or weak flow coming out of heater core tube? Weak flow means blockage) If there is a blockage, time to get new one.

You heater core is probably clogged up with contaminates! If the water is not flowing through the core for the fan to blow the heat off the core you will not get heat!

heater core cloged, get car hot check heaterhose going into heatercore should be two inch thick hoses going into the heatercore, underhood against firewall pasenger side, after hot while running heater on, chech to see if both hoses r hot, if one is cold,that means there is a restriction in the heatercore, sometimes on older cars there is a external valve run by a vaccume hose, or cable, thats fixed in with the heater hoses , sometimes this valve jams and can be manually switched.

My 98 ford f150 overheats constantly. I have changed the thermostat, fan, fan clutch, gave it a flush and still overheating. A mechanic checked it and said the water pump is good cause water is...


does the heater work good, like real HOT when the truck is HOT? if not, flush the heater core with a water hose, both directions. Now when the truck is HOT open the hood and feel the air coming thorough the radiator, it should be HOT. if its not, the radiator may be plugged. If the mechanic has a Temp Gun, have him check the radiator temp, it should be uniformly HOT if you find cold spots (like if the radiator is 200f and there are places that are 150f) the radiator is plugged and "flushing" will do nothing.

My truck wont blow out any hot air, just cold. i put a new radiator and thermostat in it. it is full of anti freeze


Try removing the Heater hoses from heater tubes(be careful not to break heater tubes off) then back flush heater core with garden hose(Don't use a lot of pressure). Jell from antifreeze builds up in the heater core and blocks the coolant flow. If it is easier, remove the heater hoses from the engine, that is safer. Back flush the heater from the hoses. To Back Flush (The hose coming from the water pump is the inlet)(Hose going to Manifold is outlet) Back flush outlet hose! To much water pressure may cause damage to heater core!!!! Do Not ues AIR!!!!

4.6 liter has one heater hose warmer than the other. may be plugged core,or is ther a fuse to climate control switch?


Look for a heater valve on one of the hoses if there is no valve i would say its a plugged heater core.

Heatercore does not get hot only one hose is hot


First make sure you have the radiator full of antifreeze also check overflow to make sure its at proper level . then let car warm up and feel hoses that go to firewall tword heater core and see if one of them are warm if so you have a blocked water control valve or its got a vacuum line off going to it .. Make 100% sure before you go and spend more $$$ that (1) you have good coolant flow through the heater core; get engine to operating temp,then with heater fan on high and temp control on full hot carefully grasp heater in and out hoses(i use a in-fared heat gun to diagnose). They should be very close to same temp, if not, core is plugged or if equipped with a flow control valve, its not opening or there is an air lock in system.(2) If coolant flow is good, suspect the hot/cold blend door being stuck in cold position assuming you have good air flow. Its very rare for engine cooling to be ok and heater core coolant flow be bad , caused by a failed water pump! Hope this helps! Please rate me,Thanks!
