Engine runs rough

I just had the power steering pump replaced on my 1992 sc400. When I got the car back, I noticed a significant change in the car's performance. It seems that, even at a standstill, when I rev the engine it sounds as if a spark plug is missing! The owner of the repair shop says it may be cracked engine mounts. But that wasn't the case when I brought the car in. Could the mechanic have cracked the engine mounts whily doing the power steering pump job?

Sounds like he removed some of the spark plug wires during his repair and possiably put them back in the wrong place also try opening your hood at night and fire the engine up then look under hood to see if there ar any wires sparking maby a spark plug wire came loose

Why does it die when first drivin at stop lights/signs ?

power steering puts a lot of load on the engine and if the idle compensator does not adjust it dies. a struggling pump can cause more load. when pump gets warm it works easier. Notice how when you check fluid it says hot cold.
Hope this helps Mike

1992 cavalier runs rough,it will run for awhile but then will stall,it runs rough when you shake the car so i changed the fuel filter and pump still runs rough the OBD code is 66 what does that mean??

code 66 is the a/c pressure switch. which will not make car run rough and stall unless its back feeding power. run engine with ac off and unhook connector to high pressure switch. the most common reason for running rough could be a bad sparkplug or sparkplug wire, check the wires and plugs also check dist cap and rotor for arcing. and last is how old is the o2 sensor, a bad o2 sensor can also cause this problem.
