I do not have a trouble code. I have no faith for some reason in the codes. It could be my bad experiences of replacing too many O2 sensors for nothing. I can get it put on the computer if this is what your suggesting.

I can tell u know zip about what a trouble code means. A trouble code doesn't mean just a sensor issue, it means a problem in the whole system that the sensor responds to, why do u think dealers have 100's of thounsands of $ in electronic test equip? because they like spending money?

4.6l. After warm-up, why does it run rough with missing?

Could be spark or fuel.
Weak or worn spark plugs, weak coil, dirty injector, and so on.

Engine knocking at startup

bad air/fuel mixture could cause rod knock like that, which is a for of backlash or whip like action. Detonation, like very poor grade of fuel. IF your engineis running really rich, the extra rich fuel goes by your piston rings and thins out your engine oil. If you have a bad ROD bearing, it is probably TOO LATE. CLEAN YOUR THROTTLE BODY and IAC valve, since these things fine tune your FUEL/AIR mixture and PREVENT rich running. GOOD LUCK!!

Po 300 code tune up performed. ( plugs, wires, air,and fuel filter) what could I have missed? Car has 159000 miles 01 Yukon xl

P0300 is multiple cylinder misfire. If your engine is a "vortec" then I would suspect the fuel injection system. The vortec engine uses a "spider leg" injection system and I have found that if a tune up doesn't clear this code, that the injector tips are dirty. In simple terms, the fuel goes into a "block" and is distributed to the cylinders by a series of plastic lines that "clip" into the heads. I have found that oil and crud has a tendancy to collect around these ports and sometimes works it's way in to the passage, clogging the tips. taking the lines out and spraying the tips with carb cleaner has worked every time for me.

My 2001 yukon xl 1500 consistently flashing check engine light when cruising at high speed downhill after running for ~30 minutes. The engine preformance appears unchanged while the light is flashing. ...

OK, if you have a misfire at a high rate of speed and it is intermittent, I wouldn't worry about it unless it makes the engine lose power or affects gas mileage.

If you want the engine to work perfectly, however, I would find out which cylinder is missing, and correct the problem by replacing coil packs or what not until it doesn't do this anymore.

Also, a bad O2 sensor can cause a 'random' mix that may come and go over time.

2001 Yukon xl 1500 engine missing while idling.

Im guessing the miss is very slight being that the check engine light isnt on, I would check with your local GM dealer to see if you have the old style fuel injectors in your vehicle, you will need the VIN.
GM had problems with the early style injectors and they redesigned them, but the only way to know which ones are in your vehicle is to call the dealer. I have had to change these out as early as 80,000 miles. You might be able to have the injectors cleaned professionally, which could help, but if you have the early style injectors i would recommend replacing them if your mileage is average for the age of the vehicle. Once the miss gets bad enough it will pick up a code and trip the engine light. I hope this helps you..

99 S-10 Engine hesitates only when warm

If it has miss and hesitation only warm not cold you may have a coolant temp sensor problem . but if the service engine soon light is off i would chek ignition system(plugs, wires ,boots).most likely one of the cylinders missfires when hot.

Engine misses at a constant speed

i had the same problem happen to me. i had to change the injectors and the injector pump to solve the problem. i would check the lift pump first. when the engine is cold it hasnt had time to pressurize the line.does it restart and run fine when it is warm. if so i would change the lift pump. if not i would have a pressure test done on it. i hope this helps
