I have a 2000 x saab 93 .the service light as come on and i cannot afford to service it but i know you can turn the light off without going
to saab could anyone tell me how its done ? thanks Den
Hi,If you press and hold the reset button on the SID unit the message will go out ,however it might come back on a few times so you may have to repeat this for a couple of days till it stays out.

You can by a cheap code reader and turn the light off, but it will come right back on. Your vehicle’s computer system has self-testing capability. When the computer senses that there is a problem with some of the components it stores the correspondent trouble code(s) in its memory and lights up the "Check Engine" or "Service Engine Soon" light to tell you that there is a problem and your car needs to be repaired. If you want the light to stay off you will need to find out what turned it on and repair it.
