Need a diagram for the transmission linkage 1977 Delta 88

Transmission problem
1977 Oldsmobile Delta 88 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 99000 miles

Recently my car slid off the edge of a retaining wall, and came to rest on the frame, and pan of my transmission. That evening I had an issue, and now the linkage has seized up. I have checked several things, and determined the seize is within the pan of the transmission. I am hoping this is a relatively easy fix, as I am not a mechanic, but have done several different things with cars in my day. The linkage outside seems simple enough.

Mainly I am trying to find a diagram of this linkage, so that I know what I am getting into before I go pulling the pan off. Is there a place I can find a linkage diagram of a 1977 Delta 88?

Also, does anyone have any tips for this repair? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Joe

If your pan is dented or crushed your selector paw in the trans has nowhere to go, this is super easy to fix - dont try to fix the pan, you can get a new one for cheap - or a used one if the salvage yard has not crushed everything with that trans, go to the parts store and get a new one maybe $20-30, it is very straight forward - make sure you get a new gasket ((or)) what I do is use permatex rtv black and put a nice even bead around the pan - smooth it out with your finger to about 1/16" thick and let it set up for about 1/2 an hour or till a little tacky put all your bolts in finger tight and retorque aroun the pan every other bolt until they are all tight (check torque specs and definatly use a torque wrench) and might as well change the filter since you are there (very easy) use hurst hot shift fluid or B&M trick shift for replacement fluid

1988 oldsmobile delta 88 won't drive forward

This is probably the transmission. Check the transmission fluid level to make sure it is at the appropriate level. If not add transmission fluid to reach the appropriate level. If this does not work then the gears may be burnt out in the transmission.

When i put my car in reverse it won't move but will drive forward perfect and is full of transmission fluid

Assuming this is an automatic transmission, odds are you have lost a band in your transmission, this will require a rebuild,  you may also notice it will fail to shift into high gear as well?
