Question about 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan

1 Answer

All dash gauges quit working

Started my van after stopping for a few minutes and all the gauges on the dash quit working. After turning the key off and restarting the van and driving they started working for a minute or so and then quit again. They now longer work at all. I checked all the fuses which were all okay.
Any help on the above would be great!

On most dodge vehicles there is a fuse in the fuse panel that is labeled gauges,This fuse is probably blown.....if it is replace it but if it continues to blow you will need to check for a short in the dash
hope this helps!

Sounds like someone shorted the wires...you need to look into the entire butcher job and see what wires were touched. Disconnect everything the butcher did and then see if your battery is still drainning power.

if its been a while change the fuel filter and then have the fuel pressure and volume checked.these symptoms are very common for a fuel pump problem.

sounds like an ignition switch glitch or ignition harness problem can be either depending on the amount of wear and tear with turning on and off of the ignition tumbler or possible chafing or inconsistent short in harness to ignition switch check the ground line up through harness first and check the wiring harness condition

Van won't start

a fusible link could have blown, or check the fuses under the dash or under the hood.

Van took a few tries to start. Then once off nothing worked.

Might be time for a tune up?

Does your car have a anti-theft system that uses a resistor in the key? I have had several instances when I tried to start the my '95 GM auto, runs perfect normally, but nothing. I traced it back to the key. Probably not always put in correctly.

Our 1998 Ford windstar has went all EXORCIST in dash board etc.

at the minimum, since you mentioned all the idiot lights coming on, your alternator is fried. have someone put in a new alternator. if it's still acting up, have someone go over the computer.
