engine oil, every 3to 5 thousand miles depending on what weight oil and brand of oil. transmission fluid, every 45,000 miles 4 wheel drive? change the gear oil in transfer case also every 45,000 miles but i like to insure my vehicles are properly lubed as they are my service trucks also.
Check all fluids and belts.Replace the timing belt.Change engine oil and filter, check air filter.Test the coolant for protection level. You may won't to change the transmission fluid and filter at this time but it's not required yet.Grease any fittings and check the level of gear oil in the drive lines.
Smell the fluid. If it's burnt it will smell burnt. 60,000 is the average. Depends on how you drive. You can run your trans till it quits or try and prolong it's life. Oil is cheep insurance, but it's your car and the final decision is up to you.
have you checked the fluid gear oil itself 1st hmmm would you elaborate on this for me is the linkage connected and have you done any work to the said vehicle prior or just one day woke up and this is the issue
Hello tinaromano1: The factory specification are to replace the belt every 90,000 miles in severe service. I would recommend to replace at 90,000 no matter what the service would be. Keep in mind should the belt break there is always a chance engine damage may occur. Should you need further help just ask. Thank You for using FixYa. Roger
out of the top by the way these japenese take out motors are quite a good investment. Although word up change front and rear seals. then make sure they have the same timing belt and gears as the engine that is being replaced.
You should have had the transmission fluid changed at 30, 000 miles, and you should have the transmission flushed at 60,000.
Change the timing belt at 90, 000 miles (if you have a V-6).
Change the air filter every 15,000 miles.
Check the spark plug condition at 60,000, and change the coolant at 60,000.
