Question about 2003 Ford Explorer Sport Trac
With all the fuses good I checked the fan . The connector going to the fan was was ok but , where it plugs into the fan there are two terminals or prongs inside one of them look to be burnt off. but with closer observation that one was just pushed in and not making connection with the plug. I pulled it back out with needle nose pliers heated up a small metal rod and closed the platic around the teminal to hold it in place. This fixed my fan problem. you will have to remove the winshield washer/ coolant tank and idle control to get the fan out to fix it. It took maybe 1 HR from start to finish. may thi will be helpful to someone with same problem.

Just found the answer on another site. Sure enough went out removed the 3 philips head screws in the steering column opened it up and walla a wire connection had pulled itself free. When my son uses my truck he always uses the tilt steering, when I get in I have to readjust it. because of this the wire connection pulled itself out. I simply pushed it back in an blinker and brake light are now working. My husband is now trying to figure a way to secure the wire connection so it doesn't pull itself out again. Hope this helps others, either by saving the cost of a dealership or machanic or from getting rear ended.

remove the coil pack and look at bottom of it if it shows any cracks coil is bad very common on these vans if you have a noid light check for injector pulse on #4 if you have pulse and good blue spark most likely the injector is bad you have to remove upper plenum to get injectors out let me know how you make out

Hello! There is a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) #1-15-6 that addresses electrolysis in the cooling system...If this TSB has been installed on your vehicle...There will be a tag on the drivers door with the TSB #...Also, a restrictor will be inserted into the heater core inlet...Lets eliminate this right up front...Check to see if this TSB is installed...
The vehicle does have a closed system...Electrolysis, coupled with air in the system is the likely culprit...Replacing the metal lines with rubber will increase electrolysis, which turns the coolant to a "goop"...Coolant flow is adequate when being pumped, but when you shut the engine off the goop blocks the system...Pressure is high...So coolant spews out...
I'll send a test to determine the level of electrolysis...You will need a DIGITAL multimeter...We'll fix the the electrolysis...flush the system...replace the thermostat...And properly bleed the air...Send comment about TSB and do yo have the digital meter...Guru...........Saailer
