standing in front facing your engine it's located below the intake between the radiator and engine block. you will need to remove battery, battery tray, and coolong fans on radiator, and radiator hose to gain acess.

Dodge neon turns over but wont start.

Check battery voltage!

Get someone to help you, acquire a hammer and a stick thick enough to absorb a hit from the hammer and slim enough to shimmer its way to your starter. While your turning your key over to start the motor, have your helper have the stick up against the starter and giving it a few whacks. If it kicks over then its your starter. Still sounds to me to be a starter!

check the connection to your starter.you might not have enough current going to you starter allowing it to turn over or your battery may be low.

Starter fuse keeps blowing

Sounds like a short in the system. you will need to inspect the wiring and posably, bench test the starter. Check the cables to the battery. Make sure the wires and the battery are in good shape.

Do I have to pull motor to pull starter on 97 2.0 neon cloie28

no, you can remove the bolts to starter from top drivers side under hood and remove the wires to it from passenger side by reaching under intake manifold. remove wires first and when new starter is in put wires on last. first remove battery cable from battery, let me know hqw it works.

2002 Dodge Neon Starter

might want to try charging the battery for a while on a battery charger.
usually when a vehicle does this, its because the alternator is trying to charge the battery more then normal causing the motor to rev higher.
