    I cannot get arm off and broke some sort of tab. Also, i don't want to break window getting cover off nut. Please help?

Remove the rear pivot arm.
Lift the pivot arm to the upright position.
Slide the locking tab out.
Pull up and remove the pivot arm.
Remove the rear wiper motor shaft nut cover.
Remove the rear wiper motor shaft nut.
Remove the rear wiper motor cover.
Remove the rear wiper motor bracket nut.
Remove the bolt and the rear wiper motor.

    Sorry!

    To replace the blade the arm slides over the blade then locks into place. You will see a black plastic sleeve that the arm slides over,there will be a small tab on the back of this plastic piece.Press in on this tav then slide the blade away from the arm.

take the negative side off the battery put the car on ramps secure the rear end so it does not roll and if you need a diagram for removing and installing the starter try autozone

SOURCE: 2006 Ford Escape rear window wiper has only a 10'' wiper blade

Check the clearance of the wiper blade from the edge of the glass at the top of it's sweep. If you have over an extra inch of glass, you can go with a 2 inch longer blade (one inch above the pivot point and one inch below). If you have over 2 inches, go with a 4 inch longer, etc...

These days the entire blade and holder assembly is replaced, not just the blade. The holder separates from the arm.

What size is a 2005 Ford escape rear window wiper


I have a 2002 Escape and they're probably the same. It's a 10" wiper.
(I used a 20" wiper refill and cut it in half)

Any parts store will be able to tell you which one you need, for certain.
Refills are getting rare, but they should have the whole wiper blade available.

I have a 2005 ford expidition. The rear wiper arm


the motor is probably shot. if you can hear it run and nothing happens, you can eliminate a power issue. U r better off going to a junk yard(they will pull it for you) and replace it. Its pretty simple. Hope it helps

How easy is it to replace the front wiper motor on a 2004 ford escape ? Where is it located ?



Front Wiper Motor
Removal & Installation

NOTE A new wiper motor assembly comes with the linkage arm installed.
  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2. Remove the windshield wiper mounting arm and pivot shaft
    WARNING Do not remove the wiper motor linkage arm from the wiper motor assembly. If the arm is removed, the wiper arms may not park in the correct location.
    NOTE Use a suitable tool to separate the wiper linkage arm from the wiper mounting arm and pivot shaft assembly.
  3. Remove the 3 bolts and the wiper motor.

To install:
  1. Install wiper motor and bolts.
  2. Tighten wiper motor bolts to 10 ft. lbs. (13 Nm).
  3. Install windshield wiper mounting arm and pivot shaft.
  4. Check wiper operation.

Rear Wiper Motor
- Removal & Installation
  1. Remove the rear pivot arm.
  2. Remove the rear wiper motor shaft nut cover
  3. Remove the rear wiper motor shaft nut.
  4. Open the lift gate window.
  5. Remove the rear wiper motor cover trim panel.
  6. Disconnect the electrical connector.
  7. Remove the 2 rear window wiper motor nuts
  8. Remove the rear window wiper motor.

To install:
  1. Install rear wiper motor and tighten mounting nuts to 62 inch lbs. (7 Nm).
  2. Reconnect the electrical connector.
  3. Install wiper motor cover trim panel.
  4. Install rear wiper pivot arm tighten nut to 53 inch lbs. (6 Nm).
  5. Install shaft nut cover.
  6. Check wiper operation.

The multifunction module consists of the generic electronic module (GEM).
The GEM controls the following features:
  • interval rear window wiper
  • battery saver
  • illuminated entry
  • headlamp control
  • interior lamp control
  • power door locks
  • remote keyless entry (RKE)
  • accessory delay
  • perimeter anti-theft system
  • door ajar output control
Generic Electronic Module (GEM) 2003 escape Removal and Installation
  1. NOTE: Prior to removal of the GEM, it is necessary to upload module configuration information to a diagnostic tool. This information needs to be downloaded into the new module once installed. For additional information, refer to Section 418-01 .
    Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to Section 414-01 .
  1. Remove the pin-type retainer and the lower shield.

  1. Position the RH and LH carpet aside from the center tunnel.
  2. Disconnect the GEM electrical connectors.

    1. Pull back the insulation and remove the nuts.
    1. Remove the GEM.
  2. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
    • Configure the GEM. Refer to Section 418-01 .

i was wondering I have a leak from the rear wiper. The liquid is coming out from arouhd the trim in the front around the windshield. . How do I take the trim off without breaking anything but fix the problem
