If it is a hydraulic clutch system,,then you have a failure of the hydraulic clutch system, if its a cable,,then either the cable has snapped inside the harness or at either end,,or has become disconnected at the clutch release arm.

are you refering to the clutch fork that connects to the other end of the clutch cable, you will have to drop the gear box as this fork sits over the clutch pressure plate ,and pushes the thrust bearing against the pressure plate tynes so disengages the drive from engine to gearbox, while you've got the box out check the condition of the clutch parts ie thrust bearing, pressure plate spring's,friction plate condition

87 vw golf clutch pedal pulls break pedal when depressed

There is nothing connecting the pedals. The clutch uses a cable to actuate the push-rod while the brake pedal is directly connected to the brake master cylinder and entirely different universe for both of them. I don't even recall it sharing a pivot shaft or return spring.

My buddies and I changed the clutch on a 1989 VW Golf and now the clutch lever is gets stuck in the up position. I can push it back down and should feel like it should spring back but it doesn't

If you didn't install the backing plate over the pressure plate fingers then there will be nothing to engage the clutch and nothing to return the pushrod back to default position. The same will happen if you forgot the pushrod. It will also happen when you do not install the throw out bearing although it might lightly depress the pressure plate. Also check if you have adjusted the clutch cable tension correctly or if it's hooked up to the actuator lever.

How do I bleed a 98 camaro clutch?

All clutch master or slave cylinders are bled at the slave.
It has a small bleeder valve you can turn with a wrench, to open and close.
This is always a 2 person operation.
With no pressure on the clutch pedal, the value is opened on the slave.
The petal is pushed all the way down and held.
The bleeder valve is then closed.
Only then is the petal released and allowed to return all the way up.
Repeat until you have refilled the reservoir at least once, and the fluid is clear.
If there is air in the system, you may see nothing coming out at first, then foam later. You are not done until clear fluid comes out.
You can also use your finger on the open bleeder, as a one way valve, to speed up the operation, and to feel the pressure.
Careful, because brake fluid in the clutch system can be hard on paint.
Won't hurt skin though.

The clutch split in two replaced it with new one but since then clutch pedal will not retern and clutch is constantly ingaged changed slave and master still the same

Did you bleed air out of slave cylinder? Was the pressure plate and clutch release bearing in good shape? Did you make sure the disk was turned with the springed side facing the pressure plate and not the flywheel?

HELP the cluch on my 1993 VW golf is haveing problmes

From what I am gathering. the pedal and cable assemblys are ok. then it is time to tear into the clutch its self. Sounds like the throwout bearing is bad.

Clutch pedal not returning to position

Under the dash look to see if there is a spring attached to the petal or maybe under the hood. Or you might have something getting in the was of the petal arm. Good Luck and PEACE
