Question about 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier
Car ran fine yesterday, went to start it this morning and it won't start. It acts like it's going to start ever fires. I'm going to replace the fuel filter in hopes that this resolves the problem. I bought the car used from a dealership last year and I'm not sure if the fuel filter has ever been replaced. Any other ideas? I'm really afraid it's the fuel pump and I don't have $700 to replace that. Any advice you can provide would be great!!
Check and see if you are getting fuel at the fuel rail. the is a technical service bulletin for no start concerning the fuel strainer. the 03 came with a 100 micron strainer which clogs causing a no start problem due to low fuel pressure. should be 40to50 psi.
you can try tapping the fuel tank with a rubber mallet sometime that will getting the fuel pump working temporalily. also check the ignition module on top of the coil packs this part controls the spark. hope this helps
