Question about 1986 Toyota Celica

Cold weather Car won't start, but fan under hood does

I have a 1986 Toyota Celica GTS.
When i turn on the ignition power all the indicators show that I have juice from the battery. Also, a fan under the hood (i'm not sure what fan, because the hood latch is frozen and can't get that up) starts running. If I turn on my air inside the car that all works fine.
But, when I turn the ignition all the way to start the car it doesn't turn over the engine.

I was going to jump the car, but I had never heard a fan under the hood start like that before, so I wasn't sure if I should. Maybe it was trying to heat up the engine because of the cold...I don't want to jump it then have the engine block crack because it's too cold.

Because ur lights ar eon when u turn the ignition key doesn't necessarily mean the battery has juice. It probably does to do those things, but it probably doesn't have the cranking amps to send to the starter so that it can turn over the engine. But if the battery is good, it means that ur starter is not working properly, because u said that the engine isn't turning ove. Try tapping the starter a bit and c wut happens. Sometimes it works. If unsure, consult with an auto-electrician. This is definelty an elcetrical probelm

That fan that u heard is the radiator fan. When the ignition is on but the engine not running, that fan usually stays on. When the engine is running, depending on the temperature of the engine, the fan will either come on or off. When the engine reaches a certain temperature, the fan comes on and shuts off when it has reduced it to a specific temperature

My 2000 celica gts won't start when it is really

A no-start condition can occur with several different symptoms. Have a clear understanding of which one applies to your vehicle when having the problem diagnosed.

Here are the most common symptoms:

  • Engine will not turn over (or crank over)
  • Engine will turn over (crank) but will not start
  • Engine starts and dies (stalls)

Try looking under the hood around the driver side by the wheel well. Or on the driver side under the steering wheel, or slightly to the left of it.

Sounds like the connection from the battery to the chassis ground is bad. Try replacing the Negative battery wire and make sure where it attaches to the frame is as rust free as possible

Fan inside engine doesnt turn around

When you add something like a CAI, you change the dynamics of the engine. The computer is constantly monitoring the fuel, air, heat, etc ratios. You are playing with years and years of engineering that went into the car. You will probably need to get the computer reprogrammed to accomidate the modification.
