Just follow the leads and your questions will be answered on the inline 6,http://www.ehow.com/info_7829296_292-chevrolet-distributor-specs.html On the tranny id, just go to parts store on line and check out different pan covers for the trannys. they have different shapes that you can compare to yours. good luck

I want to replace5.4L in my 03 f150 with a non triton engine ..what can i use? is there a 4.7L i want to do away with triton engine...could i put inline 6 in it?

the major problem with fitting different engines is the transmission housing compatibility
if the bolt pattern is different, the cost of obtaining an adaptor plate makes the different engine fitment expensive
there is a technical division in ford motor company that you can contact for advice and they will be able to advise which engines have the same bolt patterns that will allow the change over
of course the other method is to change the engine / transmission as an assembly so if you want to put a inline six in use the inline six transmission as well

What engine did my 64 chevy come with

If that's a full size psgr car it could have a 230 6 cyl, 283 2bbl carb, 327 250 or 300 hp, 409 340, 400 or 425 hp. The 400 and 425 409's were manual trans only all others could be either manual or powerglide. The 409's in 64 had K66 transistor ignition as an option. First year for K66 in Chevrolet line, Pontiac had it in 1963. The 327 first showed in 1962 in both cars and corvettes.

Looking for engine size, in a '65 chev Vin # 164675J110610

Sorry for this picture being so small but if you go to LMC Truck .com you can see what all the numbers and letters your VIN number stand for.

To know what size of motor you have in the vehicle, you need the LETTERS that are stamped on the engine itself. The locations are:

For an inline 6:

The six cylinder engine letters are stamped on a pad on the right side of the engine at the rear of the distributor-
230 CID 6 CYL---TA, TE, OR TG
292 CID 6 CYL---UH OR UT

For a V-8:

The V8 engine letters are stamped on a pad immediately forward of the right hand cylinder head (driver's side head)-
283 CID 8 CYL---WA AND WE

There is no 350 CID installed in '65 in the Chevy.

Also, this info is for a truck....is your question here for a truck or car?

Where are the sparkplugs on a 2003 gmc envoy

You have a 4.2L inline 6 cylinder, on top of engine you'll see six coil pack's running front to back on top of the motor, disconnect harness on each one remove small bolt's pull all six coil pack's out, spark plug's will be in there.Don't worry you don't have to put the coil pack's back in the same hole.
