Car Vibration - 2005 Polo Classic TDI

I have changed the diesel filter on my car and is still vibrating. At some stage when I turnedthe engine on it will need me to let it heat atleast for 15 minutes to stop vibrating but now it's doing that all the time and it doesn't have power and it's not turbo as it sometimes, when you've driven it for about 2 to +-5 kilomiters and switch off and on the engine it stop vibrating sometimes, what could be the problem?

I am so grateful to you and this site John. The solution you gave me it's working perfect. Why I took long fixing my car, is the spanner to open the pipe nuts, we went to VW dealer and they told us that they are not selling it. Do you know where i can get this special spanner for my car in South Africa - Johannesburg? My husband managed to borrow the spanner in one of the authorised garages but we need to buy and have it ourself as well.

Hi Wendy

Did it do this before you changed the filter ?

If no, suspect you have an air lock in the fuel injection system.

Simplest way for you to eliminate it, is to undo each of the 4 injector feed pipe nuts, half a turn, whilst the engine is running, at approx 1OOO RPM, the air will be forced out along with a squirt of diesel, and you should be back to normal.

Good Luck !

Let me know how you get on.

is the idle low or normal? Some VW's have an idle memory and if the battery goes dead it can lose the memory.

I went to e-bay to find the answer. They list no taillights for your car. Layman's answer. If the two years of taillight look to you to be exactly the same, they probably are. Be blessed.

My Audi A4 2000 TDI year 2005 has run on two tanks of Bio fuel recently and it hasn't recovered... started stuttering. Fuel system has been flushed out, air flow mand air flow meter has been changed but...

Audi 1.9 TDI and 2.0 TDI engines with pump-nozzle injection system, (year 2005 included), don't have permission to run with Bio fuel !!!
First you must replace fuel filter, interflow a quality Diesel additive (for 60 liters Diesel fuel dosage) fill up tank with Diesel fuel and run at least 300 km on highway at 3000-3500 rpm in 4-th gear.
I recommend you Foerch Diesel Reiniger System additive! I use this additive from 3 years ago and is certified on Audi TDI engines!

Vibration problems in 1kz te

Check calibration. Muffler supports from the front till the back, there should be proper clearance. Is your diesel fuel of proper cetane rating for the engine? Check your belt drive system, is there any part that is excessively draining engine power, power steering pump, air con compressor, alternator or generator? Do these preliminary steps and isolate.

2003 Jetta TDI vibrates above 35 speed

With 180k I would change the engine mounts. They are about the only thing that would dampen engine vibration and noise (assuming that the engine is running ok). There is likely one or all weak or broken. Normally when you have a vibration at speed then it is going to be driveline or wheel balance.

2000 VW Jetta TDI when starting vibrates (felt under the break pads) and a really rough sound when starting and turning the engine off. I have had people tell me that this could be due to timing...

It sounds like a diesel.. They vibrate like ****, it's just what diesel's do. . Otherwise I'd check engine mounts, if they are worn, then the engine could be sitting down on the frame of the car making you feel ALL of the vibrations.
