Indicators wont cancel

My 2002 boxster indicators have just stopped automatically cancelling. I assume there is something in the steeing column that controls this?
Does anyone know how to fix this?

    Hi caprio23.

Looks like I will have to get my local garage to sort it. Was hoping it might be a home job but sounds a bit complicated. Thanks for your help.

You will need to replace the turnsignal switch in the steering columb. The part is only availabe from Porsche. The job is pretty difficult to do without breaking anything and the air bags have to be disabled and the steering wheel removed in order to do the job.

It has come to my attention that the indicator lever doesn't return to normal position after i have indicated left or right. how can this be fixed?

Does the auto-cancellation not work after the steering wheel returns to the home position? If not, you may need to replace the column switch gear, or check if the auto-cancellation mechanism is working.

Porsche boxster indicator not working

That's likely the switch at the stock. You need to remove all the trim pieces around the steering column and replace the indicator switch.

Hi, as I was turning right with my signal on and then an immdiate left with the signal on when I heard a cracking noise come from my steering column, then the right signal would not turn off automatically....

There is a fitting around the steering column with the indicator switch and cancelling mechanism on it. It sounds like this has come loose or cracked. You will need to strip down the shroud around the column to investigate.
I hope I have been of help but please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.

There is a plastic cancel lever on your signal switch, which is located in your steering columb. Air bag must be removed.

How can i fix the auto cancel indicator switch on a jaguar xk120

The auto cancel switch is actually just a bump in the steering column that hits the signal lever on the return causing it to turn off the lever. A lot of the times, this little switch or bump breaks. You'll need to remove the top of your steering column cover to get to it

My blinker stays on when i meke a left turn

The problem with the blinker staying on is most likely the cancel spring. In the steering column you have two cancel springs, one for the right turn signal and one for the left turn signal. your left turn cancel spring is probably broken. to replace this spring requires removing the steering wheel and components. on some models you have to replace the whole turn signal module cause it's all one piece. Check with your local dealer or parts store to see which one you have. Hope this helps you out.
