Question about 1999 Ford F250 Regular Cab

99 F250 Electrical ???

Have a 1999 F-250 V8 triton pickup, My problem is that the battery keeps going dead; I just replaced the altenator and battery but it still goes dead. Do you think I schould check the spark plugs or anything else? I've been to carquest and they checked my battery, altenator and cables, but there was nothing that read wrong. I would really appreciate any assistance of advice you might have.
Thank you

the same exact problem although my tensioner pully is fine. i have checked the voltage on the altenator when battery and everything is hooked up like it should be and the alt is only getting 12.34 volts, the same as the battery /now i believe that you can unhook the wiring harness from the altenator and the positive that comes from the battery and test voltage again on the altenator and it should read steady 13.9 or 14 normal. mine reads .14 volts. need much help.work truck and without it no money comes in

Check your Belt Tensioner. If the Belt Tensioner is Not Holding the Belt Tight Enough it will not allow the Alternator to Charge the Battery. Let me know. Please Rate my Solution, I need all the Help that I can Get! Thanks!

My 86 toyota pickup keeps draining my battery when i turn the key over, have good altenator, battery, fuses are good and have good grounds

Your battery has a few dead cells, replace the battery. A good battery should crank your engine for a while before it goes dead.

Battery drainage on 99 ford windstar

Aftermarket radio set up to play when no key in ignition? Or CB? or aftermarket alarm system?

If so- those can put a phantom load on the battery when it is shut down.

If you do not have those installed, does your fuel pump continue to run? If so- try swapping the fuel pump relay if that does not remedy it, replace the oil presure switch it may be stuck closed.

make sure all the wires were connected back to the battery there is a red wire that sits by itself and when you disconnect the battery it tends to fall also check the alternator circuit breaker could be blown.

Battary light would not go off

Have the battery and the alternator tested under a heavy electrical load. Some of the cheap battery testers will not indicate a bad or weak cell. Also your alternator may not put out enough amperage to keep up with the electrical demands placed upon it. A good battery tester is a carbon pyle tester. Good luck.
