Question about 2002 Toyota Camry

A/c gets warm when on idle...

Hi i have a 2002 toyota camry 4 cylinder. i notice that when i am on idle my ac will start to get warm. what could be the problem. my uncle had changed out the oxygen sensor but it is still the same. i also noticed that when i am on idle for a longer period of time the temperature on the car will start to rise.
my auntie had a similar problem, and they changed out the cooling fan as well as the pullies. but she has a nissan maxima. could it be the same problem for my 2002 camry.
if the cooling fan is the problem, would it affect my car even worse than it already is.

another thing... i had changed my battery in my car and my rpm is low. do i have to just keep running my car so get the manufacture setting for the rpm? if so why is that?

please help! i can't afford a new car right now and the camry is still good. but it's these little problems that seems to pop up once in a while.

i greatly appreciate your time thank you
jq

For the ENGINE Cooling System
notice that when i am on idle my ac will start to get warm<<"ac" Are you referring to AIR Conditioning? and does Cooling fan work to check NO A/C on run at Idle for 20-30 mins. if it turns on its ok TEMP RISE How Hot In the RED? HALF WAY is Normal Thermostat May be OLD is It /If So Have it Replaced that's Fairly Inexpensive Unless you DIY then ite about 7-10 Bucks. O2 Sensor Will not effect Engine Cooling system its good for Fuel Economy... Be Sure Cooling system is FULL W No Leaks--No Obstructions In FRONT of Radiator as ANY Obstructions WILL Effect BOTH ENGINE Cooling And A/C Performance Ex out Both List And You Should be A1 my Friend A little TLC on a CAR goes a Very long way in it Functioning Properly for you. For The Air Conditioning System Perform this Service
If It cools fine At Road speeds this is Indicative of a cloged or Partially cloged Orifice Tube at Low Engine RPM's Compressor has a Hard Forcing Freon Through Dirty Orifice tube a Clean one Has no Problem. I Do Recommend That You Have It Excavate , Replace Orface tube and Recharge System.

My 2002 Camry is starting to idle so low that it dies ocassionally

Your car probably requires a comprehensive engine tune up.
During engine tune up mostly three areas are addressed:
1. Restoring the cylinder compression.
This system requires the adjustment of valve tappet clearance at operating temperature.
Inlet=0.25mm-0.30mm, Exhaust=0.25mm-0.35mm)
2. Servicing the air and fuel system.
Servicing and inspecting the throttle body, ISC (Idle speed control valve), element air cleaner and MAF ( mass air flow sensor)
Fuel pump pressure approx. 38psi - 44psi.
3. Servicing the ignition system.
Inspecting and/or replacing/adjusting the spark plugs gaps(0.9mm-1.1mm), igniters (visual inspection)

1991 Camry with 2.0 L, 4 cylinder. When it is warm

Early 90's had a thing called Idle Stabilizer valve. It should sit on the top of the motor, some models had it sitting on the side of motor.Anyway this part is about 4-5 inches long, abou 1-1.5 in diametar and it has vacuum hoses connection and electrical conection.I'n most cases, the diaphragm could be dirty, thus restrictin internal part to slide back and forward. If you are handy, locate the ISV and remove it.Use some brake parts cleaner( can use up to 1 can) and clean it good. When cleaned spray, just a spritz of of WD40 on each opening and reinstall it.If problem still persist, you will have to purchase a new one that will run you about $200-325 buck.Hope I could help.

The car warms up and then starts sputtering and bucking

When your engine is running lean that means it's not getting enough fuel.So if it's one side (or bank) of the motor then possibly you have an injector problem on that side. You'll want to get a fuel pressure test to see if the fuel system pressure is up to specifications. Then get the injectors tested. These tests are simple and realitivly cheap.

It sounds like your valve seals are getting old and are leaking oil into your pistons. As long as it is not using a lot of oil or fouling your spark plugs drive the heck out of it and look the other way when you first crank it up in the morning.
One other problem that will cause this is a cracked head or a leaking head gasket which is getting water on your pistons overnight. Watch for #1 low antifreeze in your radiator #2 higher than normal engine temperatures. This could be a serious problem that could cause expensive damage to your engine if not corrected.
