Ford f350 problem see details for summary thanks

About 6 months ago my Ford F350 Diesel truck started making a hissing noise from the exhaust tail pipe area about a minute after starting it up, for about 5-7 minutes it would continue, and then slowly go off. Now, I start my truck and the gas pedal is not responding, nor the automatic door locks.

I actually have a 2002 f350, not sure why it put a 1991 model?? Anyways, I disconnected the neg. battery cables from both batteries and turn the ignition to 1st postion and left for 5minutes and restarted truck and then it was responding to the food pedal like the truck was brand new. The acelerator was working fine and after a minute it stoped and check engine light came on. Turned truck off, and turned ignition back on and started it and gas pedal worked again. Not sure why it is doing this intermitent now. What would cause this the gas pedal to work and not work ??

Stick in key to "on" position, right before starting the car
Leave it in for about 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, than start it up to reset your system.

I was wondering if you had changed the battery or had problems with a security system lately?
When you change a battery or have security system problems, this usually has the same effect as you are having with your truck

Gas pedal is a cable check near throttle body
there could be a fuse for the door locks or its the switch or actuator not related to the gas pedal
with the hissing sound
What i have encountered while doing compression checks while engine cranking and there is a hissing noise from exhaust it means there is a exhaust valve not seating properly or the valve seal is going bad.

Hissing noise out my exhaust pipe when my 99 f350 first starts up

This is common with aftermarket diesel exhaust systems, it's the Exhaust Back Pressure Valve which will stay closed for a few seconds on a cold startup, it should go away after a few seconds, and shouldn't be a problem.

Not bad Diesel or filter, injector more likely, your better off running a KOER test,(Key on engine running test) and do a buzz test on the injector,

Need a pic veiw of 2004 ford f350 6.0L diesel EGR

1st of all when Ford started out with putting "EGR's" on those diesel engines, they rushed it and are nothing less than a pain in the ***! i recommend having an EGR cleaning service performed by your local Ford dealer, i know they charge up the wazoo, but they're the best people to perform the service period.this is a VERY common problem with those engines and that service is "supposed" to be performed every 30K I believe. i dont recommend attempting to remove and service it youself, this WILL only make it worse.
