Question about 2006 Ford Mustang

1 Answer

2006 ford mustang 4.0 v6 sometimes will not start

Occasionally, the car acts like the battery is dead. The battery tested fine. Also, if I wait for a few minutes the car will start just fine. I thought it might be a loose ground, but that is not the problem. I cleaned and tightened every ground I could find. Also, from time to time while driving down the road the odometer will stop illuminating. The check engine light is not on. When the car won't start, I jumpstart it.

Have a 2008 chevy impala 3.9L v6. The car intermittently will have issues starting. Car will turn over sometimes is acts like the battery is almost dead then you try again and it starts.

Have the battery load tested, it may have a cell that is failing. Autozone and Sams club and Oriley auto parts do this testing for free.

You may have gotten a faulty battery or alternator. I would recommend that you take your car to either your local auto part store or mechanic and have them perform a load test on your charging system. Most places will do this for you at little or no cost and if you have a problem it is the best way to find it. I hope this helps you out, and if you have any more questions please feel free to ask.

@novo07 mustang v6 shaker 500 radio 6cd changer, complete battery dead. after jump, radio wont come on at all. dead. Bought new battery, still no radio at all. all else works, fuses are good in kickpanel...

you may have blown an internal fuse on the radio. sometimes radios have an inline fuse on the red wire, located behind the radio. You must remove it to discover this problem though.

2001 v6 ford mustang. when i try to start it it cranks like it wants to start but it wont, it just started doing that more consistent

Well, I have an 01 V6 Mustang as well. I am having the same problem. It is an intermittant problem with the PATS system. What i normally do is to disconnect the battery and let it sit. Sometimes it takes a few hours, sometimes overnight. I am actually on my way to have a remote start unit installed. The remote start unit will include a PATS bypass module. I will return to let you know how it works.....

Most partstores will test battery altenator and starter for free. Either your battery is dead or your connections are not metal to metal contact, or you starter relay may be shot. You can put key in on position and either test with a voltmeter or use a screwdriver and jump terminals on solenoid to see if starter turns.
