Dash lights working but car won't start

Find the starter should be up front where the tranny meets the engine get someone to help u take a regular hammer & TAP! not hit the starter while the other person is turning the key& see if starter starts to engage. If it works you need new starter if not idk without physical having the car in front of me.

1995 nissan 200sx when I try to start the vehicle all the lights are on but nothing happens,I can push start it but it won't start on its own,

First of all verify if all wires to the starter are tight. If yes then test the starting unit as follow:1. Disconnect the switch wire from the starter relay and connect a 12M gauge wire to its end on the relay. The wire must be long enough to reach the + pole of the battery.2. With the car in N, touch the + pole of the battery with the tip of the wire.3. If the starter turns then your problem is in the circuit from the switch to the relay. 4. Otherwise consider changing the starter.

1990 stanza car can be pushed and clutch start car. When you turn key on dash lights come on cae will not turn over. put in new battery did not help

Do you get a fairly loud 'click' when you turn the key to 'start'? If so, you need a meter or test light to check if power appears at the starter terminal when the solenoid clicks. If power appears, the starter requires repair or replacement (usually the brushes). If no power appears, then replace the starter solenoid. Hope this helps!

I have a 92 Nissan Stanza that won't run. I have replaced the coil and resister. It won't even turn over. Any suggestions?

if it will not turn over it is either a problem with you battery or your starter the celluloid on the starter could be bad may also be a fuse either under the dash or hood check anyone to do with starter or ignition

1989 nissan stanza. can push start it. but when turn key it does nothing.

check the fuse
it can be starter or ignition switch
go to the starter, there are three wire on the solenoid
two big ones, check with a test light, one of them should have power all the time
the smallest one should have power when you start
if the small wire does not have power when you crank then the switch is bad
if the small one has power when you start then the starter is bad

Car starts and runs fine, but no electric - no lights, heater, wipers, etc

i heard that when you cross the ignition wire (red) with the 12v constant (when installing a stereo) it shorts something out. by permanently crossing these you can keep your lights heater etc. working, although even with the key out. plz let me know if u findout what fries when their crossed, im tired of constant battery draw

1996 nissan 200sx with a new battery and starter but when key is turned there is nothing no click no rotation what so ever the clutch is depressed lights come on with full intensity but the car wont turn...

check the wires on the starter motor, there's a small one that sometimes gets dirty and loses contact or may even be off altogether, this supplies the feed to starter to tell it to turn over, or try running a live wire from the battery straight to this small terminal on starter motor body..CAUTION, make sure you are in neutral gear with handbrake applied, turn ignition on so lights on dash are lit up, then a quick touch of this "live" wire should make engine turn over or start,if so the problem is the small wire has no live feed or needs cleaning.
hope this helps.
