Question about 1992 Ford F150 SuperCab

Have ford f 150 302 fi cranks good only runs when i jump the fuel pump relay how do i fix 1992 f- 150 300 i-6 ,i have a new fuel pump, new fuel filter , new fuel line ,my truck stalls some times and i cant get it started , i think its my relay but i dont know wich one it is , i only have 3 in my truck, and cant figure out wich one it is , 2 of them thump when i turn the key to the on position.what does that mean and wich one is my fuel pump relay?

    I went out this morning to warm it up. It cranked fine, as usual. Went back in 5 minutes and it had stopped. It would not start after that. It would crank over, but would not fire. As if it were out of fuel. There was a funny smell in the cab, like burnt plastic...overheated wires? Any idea? Maybe a fuel pump relay? Any info would be appreciated.

I got a 6 cylinder ford truck when i drive it with the first tank it loose power. then i push the second tank and it runs normal .

You can jump the relay. If it is a four pin relay, look at the bottom of it you want to jump #30 and #87 in the fuse panel. This will power the pump. Make sure the fuse is good. Still no pressure/fuel. Most likely the pump has failed. Check codes first. It could be the fuel pump module that has failed.

NO, my guess no start, and you didnt check fuses first, the FI fuse kills the pump dead, fuses are always first.
94 metro? no engine size stated, so ahd to look at them all. 3

its not a ford is the answer, its really a suzuki swift .(in Gm snake skins)
and you busted a wire to the pump back there.
or the connector just popped, the suzuki cooler for pump is pink.
the pink is the biggest wire in the harness there.
the fsm shows this in the last sections for harness wring.
12vdc cranking engine, is the power to the pump and rules.
got spark? x3 or x4 (engine options vary)
if spark is lost on all cars the ECU brain cuts fuel.
(for 3 reasons total , ask)
1.0L 1.3 single cam, and 1.3L twin cam.
all three have same wiring and colors for fuel pump relay.
and same logic.
here is one , at random, picked.
if the ECU sees good park and TPS not stuck at full throttle (WOT)
then it closes this relay , cranking, (and running held)

FI fuse and IG-coil and dome fuses must be good.
the CEL lamp (dash) must glow keyon, or fuse blew..
i have all diag, info on this car, ask. tell all symptoms first.
no inertial devices , only on fords

1: fuses good
2: CEL lamp glows (keyon in dash) check engine light .
3: spark must happen !!!
4: Fuel pump relay closes cranking
5: 12vdc hits Pink wire here, (PK)
6: the black ground wire, must be good. at pump.

you must test the fuse, and wiring if there are some wires loose, or corroded and fix it.clean the contacts relay for oxide too.

If I remember correctly, the signal for the pump comes from the cam sensor. The pump should run for 3-6 seconds when the key is first turned to the "on" position and then when the ECU registers pulse from the cam sensor it sends the signal to the relay to run the pump. If you have a signal coming out of the cam sensor I would look to ECU replacement.

what is the fuel pressure reading, chances are u just have a defecive fuel pump, if the pump is running u will hear it when the key is turned to run for one second, so do it repeated time off then on and listen, if u hear nothing repalce the pump.

!988 Jeep Cherokee MPI fuel pressure problem. New everything on/in the fuel system. Can only make it run with a jumper wire from the fuel pump to the battery. Any ideas?

Have you checked the fuel pump relay. If you haven't locate the relay and jump out pins 30 and 87 (there should be a diagram on the relay or if you look at the bottom of it, the pins should be numbered, jump out the corresponding sockets in the relay housing). If the fuel pump turns on when you do that you've verified the power feed is good and the wires to the fuel pump are good. Now with a digital multimeter check that there is battery + on pin 85 or 86. If that checks out, when cranking make sure there is a good ground on the opposite pin (if pin 85 had + on it, pin 86 should have a ground). If all that checks out you can suspect the relay is faulty.

1988 ranger 2.9 no fuel pressure new pump

check the pulse on the injector wire with a noid lite or a meter. If no flash then you most likely need a computer. Its called a quad driver in the PCM thats fried. You may have a shorted component that caused it to fail.

Since you say it will run if you add fuel manually I don't suspect the crank sensor because you have spark.

check for burnt connections where the relay fits in place.and check for 12 volt to one side of small pins with engine cranking and check for earth to the other small pin at fuel pump relay.
