Question about Hyundai Motor 2004 Accent
My Accent sometimes fails to get out of first gear, it also drops down from overdrive to third with no accelerator input, also when it jumps down into third it will only take off in second. This does not happen all the time and you could drive it for weeks without a problem.
I have had it into the Auto Electrician and he said the "Computer Data was frozen", also said "no T.P.S" and "no pulse generator"
sounds like the syncromesh has gone in the gearbox. If you dont want them to grind, you,ll have to double declutch. I f you cant do this, get a new gearbox.

Priced new output speed sensor €190, went to breakers yard, found similar sensor on mitsubsihi carisma, purchased €20, fitted same no problems since. Touch wood!

Well two of the tranny codes ; P0734 and PO732 indicate gear 2,3,4 ratio incorrect. This can be caused by poor readings at the input and output speed sensors or pulse generators. The P1709 code is in reference to the kickdown servo switch.
Replacing the pulse generator set and TCM reprogramming( as per TSB) may solve your problem, otherwise you have a major component failure in the transmission unit. I would get some line pressures at the transmission checked first.
Sounds like the transmission is in fail safe mode, this happens when there is a transmission fault, you only have two gears 2nd and reverse.
Hope this helps - Steve

your problem is with the electronic module for the automatic trans, you need to replace or have it diagnose with the hi scan pro from the dealer and try to erase the error code.
