Check the brake light switch on the brake pedal. Sounds like it slipped out of adjustment. When pedal is depressed, the button on switch will extend and be on to pass current to the bulbs.
Also, you need to figure out the tail lights: those two filament bulbs are for park lights and for brakes/turn signals. One filament is for the parks, the other filament is for both brake and turn signals. American cars have the brake lights wired through the turn signal switch- from the brake light switch on the brake pedal to the turn switch, and then out to the rear bulbs for brakes and, or turn signals.

So I noticed my right rear brake bulb and middle rear brake light bulbs were burnt out, so i changed both them. When i pressed the brake only the left side light up??? the right and middle brake light

The only thing I can think of is a fuse, but figured they would all be run from the same one. You might want to check it out though. If that isnt it, maybe the wiring?

I'm having an unusual problem with a 1990 Geo Prizm. When I step on the brake the brake light comes on in the rear. When I turn on the lights the brake light goes out if I'm holding the brake pedal down....

Make sure you have the right bulbs in the right place...Sometimes they will fit, even though they are not right...Your brake light bulb should be a two filiment bulb...If it is one , then there goes your problem...Now if your bulbs are interchangable, go ahead an swap them around, and see what happens...Goodluck....

Right brake light is out and don't know which bulb to change

Have someone apply brakes. Observe which bulb lights in the left light housing. This is the bulb you want to replace.
