Question about 1995 Chevrolet Blazer

1 Answer

95 Blazer Vortec starting problem.

Thanks for the insight on my Blazer problem, but their is already a new pump and sending unit. Twice I have replaced them. Is their any thing else you can give me that might help?

Also I heard that if the throttle positions sensor sends more than 6 volts to the ecm it will not send any fuel. Is this true?

Thanks RPM Northwest

    I will have to invest in a fuel pressure gauge. If their is not enough pressure then what could that be, the pressuer regulator?

    From what I seen on it their is no vacume lines on it. This motor is the one that has the horizontal cap. The motor id on the vin is the "W." I dont know if their is any diffrence in the regulator with the diffrent cap but I am about out of solutions and ready to scrap it

Hello;
The TPS has three wires that go to it in general. You have a power lead (constant 12 volt source) , a ground, and a variable lead of 1-5 volts. If you do not have a 12v constant source check for an open or short in the sensor harness. Now you had the TPS replaced, and no start. What is your fuel pressure? If you check your fuel pressure and it is on the low side of range it will not start, nor if it does start run well.
I have to run for parts but will be back shortly. I will get back on line and be available for chat if you wish so we can figure this out further.
Thanks;

    Hello;

    A real easy test for the regulator is to pull off the vacuum line at the reguator. If there is fuel present in that line the diaphragm is bad and the regulator needs to be replaced. If your fuel pump pressure is a the low end running, take the regualtor hose off the regulator, plug it, and see what the pressure is then. If you have no change, the regulator is bad. On a side note, I have seen new pumps being bad. I went through three on one truck. Not enough pressure. Hope this helps.

    Thanks;

    Rich

Sounds like low fuel pressure.
A GM vortec engine needs at least 65 psi to start and run.

Is the fuel pump actually working and if so, how far is the fuel going, is it stopping at the filter, or is it going all the way to the injector?

Get the codes pulled, often an oil change place has all of the adapters. You need to know what the computer thinks is wrong, before you do anything.

1999 chevy blazer wont start

THE FUEL PUMP IS BAD.

if your losing fuel pressure after the pump runs the drain back valve in the pump has failed.

and i doubt that you are seeing enough fuel pressure to run a vortec engine.

low fuel pressure equals a non running vortec
