Engine is rough idling & hard to start

Start system. Most likely bad connection to Block temp sensor that sends data to ECU there are two sensors, one for the dash temp gague, and this one. I had this problem on 20 yr old car.
Found the correct sensor removed connector cleaned connector with contact spray and toothpick, scraped male spade connector on sensor to bright metal. Cleared codes. Instant start, just like new. Didn't have to change sensor as many claim needs to be done. Hope this helps. Sorry I don't know where yours is. Try a google image search for yr, Make model "Temp sensor" this one is probably near the back of the block. It has a "spring lock" to make sure it stays on. The dash temp is just a standard electrical connector.

I have a 93 ford 250 7.3 deisel standard with a manual 4x4 and it wants to keep jumping from 2 wheel drive to 4 wheel drive and the 4x4 shifter doesn't want to push down into nuteral

Check out F150OwnersBlog.com or 4x4Owners Blog. It sounds like the actuator inside the transfer case is stuck.

If this is the Vacuum shift setup, the plunger inside the 4x4 box is sticking. You also could have low vacuum pressure from a bad Vacuum pump on the engine.

The Electric setups worked differently. The voltage running to the underside wires to the shift solenoid had set values to extend and retract the solenoid plunger. Often, a burned out light in the inside Selector switch on the dash would affect the Voltage sent to the solenoid. A silly thing like changing the indicator bulb would restore the proper voltage underneath the truck.

Remember to sequence the trans to neutral before engaging some of the transfer cases.

I hope my solution is helpful.

89 F250 460 door sticker says trans code "k" what

Transmission Types : Ford E4OD/4R100, 4 Speed, Automatic Transmission
Comments: w/ Shallow Pan = 20 bolt holes 4 speed

Drive Trains : Four Wheel Drive
Transmission Types : Ford C6, 3 Speed, Automatic Transmission =17 bolts 3speed

What does the dash indicator say and does the stick have an od button on it? there is only 1 3 speed for the 460 and only 1 4speed for the 460

Engines:{300, 302, 351w}, {400, 351m, 460}, {6.9L, 7.3L IDI}, {352, 360, 390, ect.}
Fluid:
Pre '77: Type F
Post '77: Mercon
Display: PRND21
Pan 17 bolts "Utah" shape
Ratios:
1st 2.46:1
2nd 1.46:1
3rd 1.00:1
Trans code: K

so you should have the 3 speed acording to the code

I have a 1992 ford f-250 4x4 460 eng. with auto trans with over drive when i give it gas the ac goes to defrost and the trans does not shift i feel it has a vacume leek but i can not find it also the...

I think you are on the right track about a vacuum leak. I would check all those pesky little rubber vacuum hoses that are used for pollution control. They tend to go hard and split if they are over 10 years old, allowing air /vacuum leaks into the inlet manifold which upsets things that are controlled by vacuum such as the vacuum modulator on the transmission. As for the mushy brakes you may still have an air lock in the hydraulic system which would need a complete bleed to fix.

2000 Chevy Silverado normal operating temp is 210 , recently temp rises to 250. Its been this way for a few days, common operating temp is around 240-250 now, but does not overheat. Coolant levels are...

250 TOO HOT FOR ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION. SOUND LIKE COOLING FAN CLUTCH BAD ITS FREEWHEELING NOT LOCKING UP TO DIRECT DRIVE TOO COOL ENGINE OFF BECAUSE THE FAN CLUTCH THERMOSTAT NOT WORKING THE HOT SILICONE OIL CAUSE IT TO EXPAND TO PUT RESISTANCE ON CLUTCH TO PUT DRAG ON FAN CLUTCH CAUSING IT TO LOCK IN GIVE IT DIRECT DRIVE.I WOULD STILL REPLACE THERMOSTAT AND RADIATOR PRESSURE CAP IF TEMPERATURE STILL 250 DEGREES YOUR RADIATOR AND COOLANT SYSTEM NEED FLUSHING.

460 hard cranking after warm

First thing you should do it take it to a Ford dealership and tell them of your lack of power concern. They have been known to have fuel pump problems, low fuel presure causing lack of power. There may be an extended coverage recall on your vehicle that you cover the replacement of the fuel pump.
