Question about Mini Cooper

1 Answer

My name is Ruto from Kenya, I do have an automatic mini cooper

The problem is that it only engages Reverse and neutral positions only. When you put on all drive gears there is no response, the car doesnt move. What could be the problem and its possible solution?

You need to check your fluid and see if it smells burnt, or brown. if not then could be 3 things. Replace tranny filter and fluid. Bad shift solenoid, or the bands are burnt in the transmission-that whould lead to burnt smell and brown fluid.

Grinding gear going into reserve

There is no syncro mesh for reverse gear. However, if you put the car in 3rd gear before engaging reverse, it should go in every time. Good luck..

1999 Accord Automatic Transmission issue

im so sorry to say that Honda has a bad transmission line in the 98-02 accord models.. there were severe recalls on this very matter..I only got rid of my 99 accord V6 because the shop who changed my motor mounts crushed my transmission line and blamed it on me..if you had motor mounts or timing done or serpentine belt(i forgot if it has both or just 1),then check to see if transmission line is crushed it can be seen right underneath the battery..

HOW TO SYNCHRONIZE BACKUP LIGHTS WITH REVERSE GEAR ON 1996 JEEP C

The neutral safety switch can be adjusted to make this work. (loosen it and turn , then lock it down. This changes neutral start position as well so make sure both work when you're finished! Switch is on right side of trans. Switch is about $220 so don't break it!
