Yes you can replace it. the bulb is removed from inside the engine compartment. if the burnt out bulb is on the battery side you will likely have to take the battery out. the socket generally turns about a quarter turn or so... have a look to see if there is a large ring that you turn and remove first.
One important detail do NOT touch the bulb with your fingers as it shortens the bulbs lifespan.

Adjusting headlights

You should not try to adjust the headlights yourself because if you get them to where they shine in other drivers eyes when going down the road you could be fined for it.If you don't know how or where the beams should shine you could make it worse, they have to be a certain hieght and a certain angle.

2006 pontiac torrent, headlights will not shut off when car is turned off.

I see no commentary regarding how you do turn the Headlights OFF.

Are you aware that there is a time-delay in all GM vehicles that retains Headlight Power for a period of time. Typically this is approximately 2 minutes after Exiting and Locking the Vehicle. Check your Owners Manual and it should explain the operation of the Headlights.

It may be possible that you have a Relay whose contacts have Welded themselves closed.

If you are in doubt, take your vehicle to a certified mechanic and have it checked out professionally. Many independent shops specialize in electrical and drive ability problems.
