1994 caravan stalls

Drove the van this morning - got back to go home, cvan would start but then stall almost immediately. Was able to get going then stall again. This happened about 5 times (1 mile) before I could get it home. Sounds like a gas line problem but not sure. Any suggestions??

I had the same problem, the mechanic found out it was the EGR HOSE, it was worn, so he replaced it, now my van runs fine, no more stalling. check you EGR HOSE.

Try Changing the EGR HOSE. Thats what I did, and my van doesn't stall now.

Simple then expensive. The fuel relays are notorious for going out on those care-a-vans. I am certain this is the problem. Replace all relays and test the vehicle. If problem presists check the fuel pressure at the injectors. Low pressure equals cloged filter or bad fuel pump. Replace both and your problem should be solved.

If it stalls and start right away without long crank time more likely you have ignition spark cutting out.this vans are notorious for ecm failing to ground contorol.if it is a 3.3 or 3.8 V6 very common problem. check for spark at a plug wire when stalles and if no spark replace ecm.i hope i was helpful. please rate me.

My van won't start after driving a short distance, it will start again after 3 to 5 minutes but then will act like it's going to stall while I'm driving. What's wrong?

Hi Greg, I'm AL the owner of Big As Auto Repair in St Charles Mo

Greg, I read your complete message, but nowhere did I see that you replaced the Cam Sensor. The EGR will cause it to stall at stops but usually will not prevent it from restarting. I would try replacing the Cam Sensor before anything else. If you should need further assistance go to my website by clicking here: Auto Repair

'92 Dodge Caravan low speed stall.

Try cleaning the throttle body. Buy a can of throttle body cleaner, on newer cars you shouldn't use carb cleaner. But given the age of your van the protective coating on the throttle body has probably worn off anyway so if you already have a can of carb cleaner use it. Just buy a can of silicone spray to lubricate and prevent the TB from getting getting gummed up to quickly. Also check the EGR valve as it causes a lot of stalling problems on Caravans. Vacuum test the diaphragm and remove and clean the port and EGR plunger. You should replace the fuel filter if hasn't been replaced in a while. The transmission torque converter lock up solenoid might be sticking too. Just have the computer codes scanned as the EGR valve and lock up solenoid should turn on the check engine light.

2001 dodge grand caravan stalls

Check the sensors on the throttle body. There is a sensor that controls air to fuel ratio. If that sensor is bad then the car will run and then stall out while in drive. I had the same problem when it was cold outside last winter. If you dont want to dish out the money without knowing if it is that part at fault or not then start the van pop the hood and located the throttle body. Place your hand on the sensors and give them a little shake and then make sure they are plugged in all the way. You could also turn the van off and unhook the sensor clean the connectors and plug it back in. That should do the trick and if it doesnt stall anymore then I would replace those sensors if I was you. One more thing. If your giving the sensors a tug while the car is running and you hear it going to stall you could located the gas pedal cable and give it a rev or two by hand so it doesnt stall out and turn off. By the way. You van isnt over heating at all is it?
