Question about 2001 Volvo V40
V40 1.8 gdi 2001 [x] petrol been told the cause is the throttle body is there any way of checking it thanks
THE GDI ENGINE SUFFERS FROM EXTREME "COKING" - DEPOSITS THAT STICK AROUND THE VALVES AND PREVENT PROPER OPERATION, RESULTING IN POWER LOSS. REPAIR CAN BE EXTENSIVE AND COSTLY ESPECIALY IF YOU START TO HEAR A RATTLE ON IDLE. THE FIRST STEP I WOULD SUGGEST IS, TRY USING FUEL ADDITIVES SUCH AS WURTH FUEL/GAS/VALVE TREATMENT THESE ADDITIVES ARE QUITE CAPABLE OF CLEARING OR CLEANING CONTAMINATED PARTS IN TIME.
